I think this would be interesting, but I have recently looked over some of the salaries of the players for this season, and while you can't help but to look at the big dollar players, I thought it would be fun to see what sort of team you could make, ONLY using players that are getting under $1 million in salary this season?
Have a look here: http://hoopshype.com/salaries.htm
Here is mine:
PG - Isaiah Thomas
SG - Gary Neal
C - Robert Sacre
SF - Chandler Parsons
PF - Andray Blatche
Really, not a bad starting 5 for under $5M! haha
I know there isn't a whole lot of choice under $1m, so who else do you think is a bargain?
PG - Isaiah Thomas - Last pick in 2011 draft, nearly won ROTY. Nuff said!
SG- James White - Every team needs a sick dunker... he definitely fills the spot nicely!
SF - Chandler Parsons - Just better than Budinger
PF- Andray Blatche - No other competition at the 4 >1M
C - Hasheem Thabeet - 7'3, big guy down at the low post.
6th Man - Chase Budinger - Just missing out behind Parsons.
Back Up 1- Kelenna Azubuike - Every team needs a good shooter off the bench!
Back Up 2 - Ivan Johnson - Good back up!
Back Up 3 - Eddy Curry - A steal at 31,000!
Cool idea, but what was more interesting is that Brandon Roy is the 2nd highest paid player in the NBA, surely that's a mistake, don't get me wrong, great player, but his knees are stuffed. Wouldn't be worth risking 21 mil on.
Edit: NM worked it out, Portland are still paying him too, so his total is 21mil but Minnesota are only paying a small part of that.
PG: E'Twaun Moore (only just over Isaiah Thomas)
SG: Gary Neal
SF: Chandler Parsons
PF: Andre Blatche (he definitely wont be on this list next season)
C: Hasheem Thabeet (his offense stinks, but with the four above him on the court, he wont get to see alot of the ball anyway)
Bench: Isaiah Thomas, Chase Budinger and Ivan Johnson.
And a general observation...how many of the guys under $1M are PG's as opposed to bigs. Hardly any tall guys getting paid less the the $1M mark.

How's about Gilbert Arenas at 4th on the list. Not even playing at all, and still getting nearly $22M a year. Guess bad guys do finish 1st (or 4th on this occasion).
Well considering that players with 6 years or more of experience can't be signed for less than $1M that is gonna be pretty tough. The highest minimum salary is $1,352,181 for 10+ years experience. Perhaps that would be a better threshold
