I think just about everyone here plays ball or some sport, and I think what Pop is doing is very healthy for the team!
I have been on teams with friends and with strangers, as a starter and as the 12th man, in casual leagues and competitive ones, and I think there can hardly be anything more valuable for a team than having games in which the role players are given the chance to really play, prove themselves and explore their abilities.
In the long run, this helps them get ready to contribute more to the team and push the starters harder for their spots, making everyone better.
Pop being the genius coach that he is, I think he values this even more than the rest time for his starters.
Just look at George Hill, I don't think he'll be half the player he is if not for the exposure that Pop gave him.
I guess this is almost dead topic now, but 1 final point, the Spurs did go on to beat Memphis in OT, IMO 250k was worth it, and Pop is a genius, a win over Memphis far more important than a win over Miami.
