A big :worthy: to our minor premiers for 09 The St. George Dragons but who do you think will be the premiers this year.I think this has to be one of the most open season for a long time with no real favourites and teams that probably should be in the 8 aren't there.I think the Dragons have a good chance but the bottom 4 may just provide some upsets this year.
My pick the Dragons.

You don't need to ask me who I think will win.

Both Dragons and Bulldogs have shown some vulnerability over the past 3 weeks. Titans whilst not convincing winners have learned how to win ugly. They have been a bit lax this year from the 50th - 70th minute but seemed to have worked out that problem in the past few weeks.

They have been flying under the radar. If the Titans can come out of the blocks and score early they will be hard to stop. Don't underestimate them. Remember they have beaten every other team in the top 8 this year.

MY PICK: GOLD COAST TITANS

Come on were-rabbitoh  you can never wright off the Mighty Broncos  they have the team to do it. And Hold onto your congrats for the Dragons until after the Titans game there is still a chance they can be Minor Premiers they only need to score 138 point more then Manly :razz:.

Broncos - Titans GF Broncos Win :worthy::worthy:
Broncos - Dragons GF (Dragons Choke) Broncos Win :worthy::worthy:
Broncos - Storm GF Broncos Win :worthy::worthy:

Thanks Brad

parra's flogging last night will do them good despite the ref not being able to ref a crab race. if penrith win this week and parra finish 7th il tell ya the dogs are in real trouble with their shockin game last night. if penrith make it i think they could cause some trouble if they turn up to play that is

cant pick im gunna go for a big upset
PARRAMATTA EELS

Kimmorley is a massive loss for the Bulldogs (they cant win the comp without him) I dont really think it is as open as alot of people think. Dragons, Broncos, Manly (lucky to beat the Sharks last week is abit worrying though) and Parra are the only teams in the 8 that i think can win, Dragons vs Broncos Gf with the Dragons winning one of the great Grand Finals in recent years.

I do however hope Parra win though, Apart from last night they have been playing a very attractive brand of footy. I must say, evn though Feleti Mateo is an absolutely awesome talent....... Parra look better without him.

I would have to pick gold coast titans, they are just waiting in the background and will strike when no one expects it. I Got them at $15 to win the premiership and put a sneaky $10 on them.

Yeah thats not a bad bet, i wish i got Parra at $101 :( But i think we all do:eek:

I can't but help only seeing one outcome....Dragons Premiers

However for 2nd it's hard to say its that tight .

The Dogs could and still can afford to loose whilst they get a new combination working, they are still a threat and historically they know how to win. I think we will now more after next week....

Parra my main concern until last night, they are still a danger but 37-0 is a momentum killer, they need Hindmarsh to be playing 80 minutes and they will need Hayne to fire every game if they are a chance, however Mateo was very damaging at times and may be a "wild card". History tells us it is hard to win finishing 7 or 8.

Titans are a sleeper but I think you need to loose in a final series before you can win one, I know not much logic but........

Storm, been there done that and coached for finals and could if the ball bounces right go deep but not for my mind....

Manly well if Stewart finds his timing they have the mongrel to win semi final footy so will be there towards the end.

Broncos are talented enough to win but perhaps lacking depth if injuries keep taking there toll, not this year.

Knights, love their style but gone.........semi final footy will be to tough for too long.

Bring it on !!!!!

Cheers
Ross

Hey

Yeh solid Opinions from everyone.

I gotta say but, When Bronco's have a full side fielded, they rarely lose( same with most teams i spose). but we havent seen a 1st class Bronco's outfit throughout the majority of the season, Injuries + State of Origin Took A HUGE TOLL on the Bronco's , now we are seeing all of those players return for the semis and they are more hungry then ever to win it

Besides - Running a man mountain like Dave Taylor in the centres has been devastating and there just isnt much of a gameplan to use against a 115 Kilogram Front Rower who runs like the wind when you are opposition.

I believe the win at Kogarah a few weeks back has created the platform to lead them through the finals series and into the Grand final .
My verdict

The best finals series we will see in years, plenty of golden point matches and plenty of big hits.

Bronco's WILL BE in the grand final against either Dragons, Bulldogs, or Parra (;) )

You all probably know by now I am one sided & I will favor the Broncos to play well. Full team on the paddock, senior experience in semis & finals is a plus. From my arm chair I see some great footy for us to enjoy over the next few weeks - BRING IT ON starting with a raiders demolition Sunday night!

GO THE BRONCOS........................:woot:

"BRING IT ON starting with a raiders demolition Sunday night!"

Do you think the Raiders will put anothe 50 on the Broncos?

Well probably not the score line we will see, the Raiders are away from home after all!
Broncos spirits are up, great crowd booked in to Suncorp & a couple of farewells will make for a fantastic night of football. Close & hard hitting, but I believe you will see the Bronco's come out with the win.
Glad to see the Dragons finish on top they worked hard all year. ;)

PARRAMATTA EELS

I cant argue with that: =D>

i think the eels can do it they needed the loss last night as a win would have made them do the record breaking 12 wins including a win in grand final but now with the loss all they need is 4 wins and they can do that.

eels for mine
and maybe a eels-titans gf

MY PICK: GOLD COAST TITANS

After tonight i don't know about that.
It really is the most open comp in years. Although i hate to say it being a Rabbitohs suporter i think the Dragons will have it, i would have said Dogs but after losing Kimorley i don't think they'll have the direction to get there.

I'm very disapointed with the Kimmorley injury because i said over a month ago that i'd bet my house the Bulldogs will not even make it to the grand final.....now Kimmorley being injured will become the excuse. They would not have made it REGARDLESS of whether Kimmorley took the field in a superman cape.

Just watched my team, who didn't even make the 8, destroy the Dogs last night. And the Dogs were playing for $100,000 and the minor premiership. They have nothing.

I think the prize will go to either St.George or Melbourne.

Newcastle will beat the Panthers today on 'Old Boys Day!!!!!
We never lose our last regular home game!!!!
Then we shall enter the finals causing upsets all the ways to the grand final!
GO THE KNIGHTS :D:D

Parra all the way!!! admittedly we haven't got any legendary names like we did in the eighties (Ray Price, Peter Sterling, Eric 'Guru' Growthe, Brett Kenny, Steve Ella, Peter Wynn) but hopefully the new batch can make names for themselves. and Parra always seem to like being the underdogs and upsetting a lot of people. Anyone old enough to remember Peter Mortimer crying under the goal post when the underdog Eels beat the doggies in '86?
