Anyone see the video footage from the supposed king hit slater suffered? What a joke! And his mrs on the news saying how scared she was fearing for his life.

A smaller older man pushed billy away (not even hard at all) with a open hand because he had his hands on him.. so slater wound up big and cracked him to the side of his head with a king hit.. The poor guy wasn't even looking!! So much for a good role model.

Although my family all love him and I wouldn't tell the young fella...Imo he's a dog!! on and off the field Knees, feet , holding back etc...Can't remember a modern player getting as many professional fouls as him!

He's a great player but in my opinion one the biggest grubs playing at present. And he seems to get away with so much of it.

He had his hands all over the guy and like you said king hit him.

What were they doing at a club at 02:30am?

No doubt he's a great player.. And he has done good things on and off the field but that done it for me.. Not in Gi's league though who I think should be the Aussie fb.

I also thank him for the kiwis winning the 08 cup!

Great Player one of the best fullbacks ever but i don't like his dirty tactics on the field.

How many slaps on the face silly billy would of got in his rugby league career without Lashing out.
To bad he can not show the same discipline in real life.

He certainly didn't hold back in his return fire, but the mug who pushed him in the head deserved everything he got, imo.

As for why they're out at a nightclub partying at 2:30 the week before a world cup quarter final, only the Australian side can answer that question ...

Yep, i totally agree that he is a grub and he did " king hit' the other guy who simply pushed him away.

Always has been 1 of my favourite players for his good runs but he is a dirty player.

I think it was a little more than a push to Slater's head and if I was Slater I would have punched him BACK too. King hit: A blow intended to incapacitate in one hit, delivered without warning. The guy was warned by Slater to calm down in the video, Slater was assaulted first and he acted in self defence from then on. The drunken guy was given a fixed penalty notice for drunken disorderly behaviour and Slater graciously did not pursue any further charges. You guys are hilarious.

Firstly slaters suppose to be a professional not a thug.. The guy wouldn't have pushed him had billy not laid his hands on him?
A king hits a dog act no matter who or where you are.. They kill people. Just like the news and his wife said except they got it around the wrong way lol
For me it's not just this incident anyhow it's also the grubby on field things he's done over the years.

How do you all know that unless you know him personally ?

Maybe he wouldn't sign some cards for you guys that are saying this and you are all a bit upset.

No-one can deny Slater is an unbelievable athlete and amazing RL player. I don't think he's a grub as such but have an increasing amount of frustration toward him as nothing seems to stick on or off the field as the NRL turn a blind eye when their superstars stuff up. Hence the nickname Dragon Fire mentioned "Teflon Bill"

Agree a bit harsh on the off field. However this incident has definitely changed my opinion.
