ShipMyCards - USA Address and Shipping Service

Glad everything arrived to you without a headache m8.

From recent experience, you could safely split the boxes and slabs in to two shipments I reckon. The record is interesting, but they're pros at packing. You could always send them a ticket to see what they think on shipping it before smashing the go button.

It's gotta come back anyway. It'll be in my last shipment and then that'll be it for me (hoarding at SMC)

Latest SMC delivery in. My 26th in four years, and my first problematic one.

7 sealed boxes. 6 singles. 250-ish cards from COMC.

FedEx. 12 pounds. Shipping US$107. Shipped Friday 14/2, arrived today 19/2. Declared value under threshold.

Time from shipping request to actual ship was three days.

So I received a call from Fedex Clearance on Monday. Dude said the shipment had been flagged as SMC shipments are known to be under declared.

He then referred to the shipment as an assembly order and as such Fedex couldn't clear it. Ugh.

Plenty of back and forth between Fedex, ABF and myself after this. Many headaches and banging my head against a wall.

Fortunately was able to get a resolution late yesterday by providing the pack list and individual card pricing from the COMC stuff, intimating that the shipment only contained COMC inventory. They asked for bank statements etc providing proof of purchase. I said this wasn't possible as I use store credit from selling my own cards to buy what I want. I had to provide spreadsheets detailing incoming and outgoing payments from my account over the last year. Finally got over the line after that.

Blaming myself here I think. I typically only ship half the weight, but felt lazy/greedy and thought I'd give a bigger shipment a shot. I think this was the heaviest shipment I've requested, and guessing the weight flagged it with Fedex.

So yeah, just a heads up. Not a whinge post, only sharing my experience. Glad I escaped lightly with only having to pay $300 in duties to get my hands on the gear. I'll ship again but that won't be for a long time, and I'll tread very carefully then.

Will post about this on the SMC facebook group when I could be bothered.

Sheesh man. That's some stock you got coming in.

Is that all collection stuff or do you move some of it on for profit?

Jealous of those boxes. What did you get?

had two shipments through the past month, 2kg and 6kg.
although i spaced the shipment requests, they ended up arriving in Australia at the same time.
6kg was held, 2kg cleared.

had to do the whole song and dance of proving values, contents, etc of the 6kg shipment (really need to cut back on WhatNot).
no difference with what i declared but took a few days to pull all together.

although the value of each shipment was under the $1k aud limit, because they landed together, i was pinged as a combined amount, $200 and change for clearance, excise and customs fees. thankfully fedex assisted, very helpful agent.

lesson learnt.

fedex agent did mentioned in passing they had a case where someone declared a $14k card for a $1..... so these were still a priority for scrutiny.

All pc bruz. MJ, Longley, Giddey, Dyson. A year's worth of COMC hoarding + the odd eBay grab.

I usually bring in a few hobby boxes every shipment also, product that relates to my pc and contains a big card I'd ideally like (nice to dream). I'll occasionally open a pack, and if there are any decent hits not relative to my pc, I'll send it to COMC.

This shipment I had 7 boxes of 1999 SP Top Prospects Minor League Baseball come in. They were like US$50 each. 10 MJ autos in the product and there are only 1-2 graded, so figure there might still be a few in the wild :)

That sounds worth a rip.

What does the card look like?

I had a google and the other Jordan cards look pretty cool in the set

Agree the MJ Retrospective cards look nice, I look forward to pulling a few.

But f*** I'd be happy with an auto. They only came to my attention a few weeks ago when Nat posted on his IG story of an article in PSA Mag about MJ 90s autos.

I was a Jordan fanatic when he went to baseball and I happily collect any decent baseball cards of his. There's some really good ones if that's your jam.
