Yeah for the sake of $10 or so I would have sold it. Getting to know the guys behind the name helps a lot with dealing.

But if people do stuff you around on deals then I for one am less likely to deal with them again. Some here have proved time and time again that they are a class act. I send before payment even for them as they have built up a level of trust etc.


This is not like the Beckett trade boards and I hope it never is! We are above all that. With the whole you send first thing and people taking advantage of player collectors with crazy demands.

You said yourself that you'd have been happy to trade for a $20-$25US Bogut, why didnt you put the same price on the card?

The Auto card is definately not a $10 card, I'd never be that cheap to offer that.

I wouldnt go as far as saying it's a $100BV gradeable card tho..... :?

Mavs, it may be annoying and suck dogs testicles, but you also need to be a little more open. The worst that Justin did was mess ya around a little. It's not like he completely f'ed you over. If he had of, I would support your 1-strike & out, but I'd generally give people 3 chances. Otherwise, you may it increasingly difficult to trade with others on here.

ie, I had a trade with Jimbo earlier this year, and he messed around a fair bit with the trade, but eventually we got it done. I know it can be difficult, especially if you've been stiffed yourself, but some patience & understanding is required.

Maybe give Justin a $$ offer for the Devin. If he doesn't want to part with it for that amount, then fair enough, his choice. If he tries moving it through other means (like ebay/Beckett), he may never get any near your offer on his card, and hence it is his loss.

It's true, I am a newbie and yet to do favors for anyone in this forum, but like anything in life, I'm sure we all know it has to work both ways. My way of thinking: if you are nice to me, I'll be nice to you, you help me, I'll help you, etc.

Since joining this forum I have had 4-5 shaq GU and auto cards presented to me for sale or trade. The owners decided they wanted cash only
(eg $70.00 for 2 jersey cards was my first offer).
I would have liked the cards but unfortunately it was more than I was willing to pay, so the deals fell through. As a player collector, should I be angry and not deal with these ppl in future?

Taking nothing away from you, and other Newbies, we all need to learn aye.

Your deals for your Shaqs fell through because your offers were not high enough, not because the seller wanted to keep them to start their own PC.

If you still have a price on the card, let me know, and I'll be happy to buy it still.

I may have gone a bit too far to say some things, we've all been through this before.

PM me if interested in a sale. If not, then I wont stress, and hopefully no one else will too.....

I found reading this thread really amusing. I recall working a trade out with YOU MAVSMAN for your Joey Graham Press Pass auto. I secured a card you said you would trade for it, pm'd you that I had received it.....this is AFTER we had agreed on the trade in pm..........and guess what......never heard back from you. I never whined about it like a bitch........and now I find it hilarious that you give this guy crap cause he decided not to trade with you......AND ATLEAST HE TOLD YOU THAT HE DIDNT WANT TO(unlike others). If for some mysterious reason you never received my pm, which I doubt, you still could have pm'd me back about it. Posting about this dude, when you have operated on a pretty similar standard....is the pot calling the kettle black. There is a basic level of ethics and respect we should all expect when trading with anyone.......thats the hope.....the reality is though, that many traders have poor ethics.....its a fact of the trading world........get over it.
