Enjoy the Cricket and thanks for collecting Select!!!
All it needed was a token auto and I along with the rest of you would have jumped all over it - anyone, Khawaja, Ferguson, Paine, hell even Ray Bright could have signed a bloody XXXX beer coaster and I'd be coughing up my $299 quick smart!
Honestly why didn't they just do a 9 card auto premium set for $299, or even $399? Would have been way more cost effective for Select and pleased us way more.
As nice as the 94/95 Futera Ashes box set was (along with the Heritage set it is the best base set designs ever), even that only sells for about $30! I think they are kidding themselves with the price tag when there is no insert chase card or auto randomly inserted.
The 03 Platinum set sells for about $300 and is a brilliant set with 8 quality autos, and 04/05 set was $399 at retail but that comes with a Punter AND a Warne auto...and 7 others!
We need more bang for our buck for $299 Select!

And can i add that if this sells poorly Select will simply say there is weak demand for cricket cards in Australia - not true! There will ALWAYS be demand for a quality product!
I really understand why a few of you guys are switching to NBA, Select are really killing the hobby. Boring, recycled designs, lack of creativity, not evolving with the the trends of the hobby worldwide etc
Soccer, Cricket and NRL cards are really in danger. The price of higher end NRL cards (# to 100 mind you)either hold their value or increase, so there is definately a demand for more.
I would rather them go bust, so some other company jumps in. It would be much better in the long run than insult the serious collectors with the thoughtless junk they continue to spit out.
well put justin, i agree 100% except for soccer there cards are booming and they are no way in danger ahahah, only in terms of a-league not the rest of the world.
they look like they will be ok i was wondering where i may get some english player cards from for them to sign. I think these may be perfect..
thanks for the ifno Alex
I have tomorrow morning free, so will go trawling the Woolies and newies to get price and availabilty. I'll probably buy a shed load, so if I get double, if anyone wants to send me PMs with wants (if available AND no promises), let me know.
I'll try and get a report up tomorrow night, if not Sunday night.
PS - I am a Cricket nut, so anything like this I love.
