With Elite I chase the hit by buying 4 packs at a time. Sometimes I get the hit in the 1st attempt and sometimes it takes the entire box. This year I haven't hit a dud box out of around 10 attempts and it's also possible to actually get the higher end hits from what I've seen. So personally I think single pack buying is probably better for me. But a case is probably not as risky with limited/no dud boxes.
