Why is that a bad thing? It's showing the refractoryness on the card which is quite cool!
rotate the card 90degrees to the way you put it in. From memory it will scan in the same direction as the refraction so should be less obvious.
LOL that was even the solution that was recommended in the past and it worked:

Any idea how to scan cards in BGS holders?
Any idea how to scan cards in BGS holders?
If you have a lide (?) scanner i'm pretty sure you are sweet out of luck scanning graded cards such as BGS - this type of scanner only scans exactly what is on the glass so when you scan a BGS card which is fairly thick it scans the front of the holder fine, but the card is out of focus.
Is this what you are seeing ?
yer like the epson scanner discussed here it scans past the glass (as in the focus). So you get a sharp image.
I will test mine out later in the week. I am in the middle of my longest interview ever.
Stage 1 = 5 min call
Stage 2 = 1 hour call
Stage 3 = Personality test, verbal test, numeric test, questions about yourself test (3hours worth)
Stage 4 = in person interview.
Stage 5 = formal offer if get that far.
thats the prob with all the cheaper scanner, 99% LIDE
