G'Day all I'm starting to pare down want I'm gonna start collecting and just wanted to get some thoughts on people fav base sets.

Top 3 from the 90s and top 3 from then upwards.

Criteria: Pretty to look at, can be parallel such as refractors, for 00s numbered base only.

90s - 93-94 Upper Deck, 93-94 Fleer and 95-96 Fleer Metal
00s - 05-06 UD SPx, 08-09 Topps and 10-11 Classics

This is just how the base set looks btw.

Already got a complete set of 9596 metal they are very nice, would love to get a box of 93-94 Finest but the only one I've seen recently is over $200 on ebay.

Really like the the Flair and E-X sets as well they look very nice, btw devil saw your master set thread does that include printing plates and 1/1s?

Chronology doesn't have any printing plates but yeh it will include 1/1s later on. What I've heard is that a collector, after the master set too, already has a lot of the 1/1s so we'll just have to wait and see in the future.

100 cards /250 + base autos. There are also Rookie cards from the 2008-09 class.

Yeah only gonna start collecting numbered base sets or premium 90s base sets. Am thinking of going the finest/chrome refractor route

Numbered /225 and look like this:

Personally I think the 08/09 looks the best which is the top-right Paul Pierce followed by the 07-08 which is the Kobe design.
