OVER NIGHT - Wow awesome doco on Troy Duffy (director of boondock saints) v's harvey weinstein and a whole heep of assorted charecters entertaining and totally engaging, basically the rise and fall of a man given a huge break, and blows it with his own ego.
brilliant 5*****/*5

Huge fan of the Boondock saints ... might check it out.

the lovebirds - 6/10. diverse edition of 'date night'. has some funny bits and danesh from 'silicone valley' is pretty good.
palm springs - 5/10. andy samberg and the mother from HIMYM do a reboot of 'groundhog day'. pretty lame.
the informant - 8/10. matt damon plays an awkward FBI informant who doesnt know when to stop lying. a re-watch, but still very funny.
waffle street - 5/10. story of a dude who loses his job in finance and decides to take an 'honest' job working at a waffle place. strange feel, but watchable.
mystery team - 8/10. childish gambino heads up a mystery squad that finally gets a chance to prove itslef when they get hired to solve a murder. hard to explain this one. a childish comedy that reminds me a little of 'wet hot american summer'. hilarious if youre into that kind of thing.

about to start a classic sport film binge. any given sunday followed by goon and then something like the sandlot/little giants.

good work pepper, nice list for me to check out...have not seen any of them!
i would steer clear of most of them, but 'the informant' is good. and mystery team if you like stupid funny.

goon and any given sunday are definitely my 2 fave sport films. went and re-watched 'eight men out' aswell. a classic...

Once upon a time in America, a tad overrated. It was okay but way too long. Another De Niro film where he plays a similar role. For 1984 it was good, however so many better films around that time.It was a flop at the box office for a reason.

BOY ERASED (netflix) not to bad at all, good drama based on a true story.. young man struggles with sexuality and his religious up bringing. Fantastic acting Russell Crowe/Nicole Kidman was great. its a Joel Edgeton film (who also appears in the film), ending was a bit fluff
3***/5

The Old Guard - 7/10 - good but even at 2hrs I still think it was missing something on their back story, would’ve loved more.

Greyhound - 8.5/10 - full on action for 90 mins, would’ve been 9/10 if there wasn’t so many Tom Hanks staring out at the ocean in disbelief scenes. I get it. You’re looking for U-Boats.
Watched both of these and agree on ratings, two damn fine movies.

SHATTERED GLASS - little gem of a film, a journalist gets exposed for writing fictional articals for a top paper publishing company. Based on a true story. stars Hayden Christensen and Steve Zahn. really enjoyed, great film 4****/5
