QLD collectors have been screwed over

This doesnt affect me in the slightest, i just get extremely jealous that some one is busting any type of box and not me hahahaha
How ever I feel a bit sorry for the dealers outside Sydney as they lose a bit of the initial flurry on the ebay or market, as well as trade bait for the particular cards they may be after???
Maybe they should have agents in each state hold stock until a particular date and on that date they ship it out??? just a thought :)
Dave, how dare you come on here with such a clever idea? Not for the 1st time mind you.

I certainly see the point made by my QLD brethren but I am not concerned as I am not an IP auto hunter. I know I will get my boxes next week and because @Digeze stole my Campo #1 I will have to settle for a Vaughan or Tigers #1...

I feel worse for local dealers who I have orders to fill and cases to bust for stock etc. it is an unfortunate situation but at the end of the day I will still get my boxes and it is not really a first world issue IMO!

Well I live in northern Qld, so I understand about shipping taking longer, but I don't think theres any point in complaining. The problems I have with this release, are different release dates and the cases released at the show. I think this is all wrong!!! One release date to everyone, and make it a Monday, so everyone has a fair chance to get the product asap. People aren't going to get discounted pack/box prices from the newsagents release, but prices for the cards they pull will be lower, as the initial hype will have died down by then. Everyone should have the same chance to get the most in trade or sales that they can. I have brought no cards from this release as I cant see value in this one, especially after ESP increased the prices. I brought 5 cases of last years!!

I think people's angst is being heightened when they're seeing a lot of DCE sigs and low numbered cards being pulled, as if everything was sequentially packed and shipped out. But the flip side is a lot of high numbers are being pulled too.

Situation reminds when a popular video game was being release. All stock would be shipped out to retailers, for them to hold onto until a set date. But someone would - knowingly or unknowingly - put it out early, at a cheap price, undercutting other retailers. And then the chain of people hammering retailers and message board about who would and wouldn't break the date would explode.

Is there any chance that newsagents will get stock before the 4th? Or is that date set in stone?
Its pretty obvious release dates are not set in stone.

If the release date is the 4th then, no matter what date they recieved their stock, they aren't supposed to be sold until that date.

I would have no problem at all if the release date is set in stone and all sellers abided by the release date.

Again the official release date is the 4th August but ESP have specifically instructed Ikon to get this out to the market ASAP for sale.

Unless they embargo the product until that date, its free for anyone with stock to sell.

The newsagent I was talking to last week said theirs were due Thursday 24/07. That didn't happen and he has since been told they will be delivers Monday 28/07.

Most of us in NSW outside Sydney are still waiting for our cards as well. I have cards on order and it looks like I will get some from the newsagent before I get the pre-ordered cases.

How many cases are you in for mate?

I've actually received cases AFTER Qld before....when I've enquired with Startrack they've said I'm "regional" instead of Metro so it can take longer.

It's not the cards that are being pulled but what they are initially selling for. Particularly for dealers where this is their livelihood if your a few days behind other dealers in getting product out on the secondary market (ebay). You miss much of the bidding war between die hard fans and as a result not have yours sell for as much which will affect your bottom line.

If someone breaks that date it is a simple fix next year they get their orders shipped to them on the date of release not before.

I received my stock on Friday and have made about 3 sales on eBay, 1 sale on Ozcard. There have been business preselling singles on eBay for nearly a month. That's where the issue is and ESP have tried to address that by holding back the checklists....it doesn't seem to deter though.

Yeah, and come tomorrow, the Parramatta Eels will be back in Sydney and a massive opportunity lost to build my IP collection. Parramatta have a signing session this morning, not tomorrow. I miss out on 7 signatures for my PC and the chance to get trades to build on my PC. So whilst the Sydney guys are looking at their shiny new 2014 Elite IP cards that they got over the weekend. Im looking at jacks#*t.
To be fair if nobody got their boxes, cases etc until the supposed release of the 4th the Eels would still be back in Sydney.
