QLD collectors have been screwed over

I have been enjoying watching the box busts, but I can't help but think where the f#*@ is ours. If the distributors are going to allow them to be sold, then they need to make sure all collectors have access. And if not, retailers can't sell until everyone has the product ready to go.

I was prepared to buy a few boxes, if I could, prior to this weekend. I can guarantee I will not crack a box now but will buy sets of secondary sellers off eBay.

I know its hard to watch but come tomorrow night all NSW collectors will be having withdrawals over our northern neighbours busting their boxes/cases while we sit here with not much to do.

Had the stock arrived a day earlier we wouldn't actually be having this conversation.... its just unfortunate that something called the weekend and slightly longer shipping times to Qld (not sure why?) had to happen.

It'd be interesting to see how some of the NSW collectors would react if the QLD collectors got first dibs at a show and then also at delivery time..

Yeah, and come tomorrow, the Parramatta Eels will be back in Sydney and a massive opportunity lost to build my IP collection. Parramatta have a signing session this morning, not tomorrow. I miss out on 7 signatures for my PC and the chance to get trades to build on my PC. So whilst the Sydney guys are looking at their shiny new 2014 Elite IP cards that they got over the weekend. Im looking at jacks#*t.

The show stock was a one off..... it was 6 cases of stock (I was with Terry when he took these to his car) that were specially air freighted in for the show as a promise from ESP to have some there.

Most people from Sydney (except a few die hards) didn't bother making the 2 hour trek from Sydney to get any.

I can tell you that as of Thursday last week, no one in NSW actually thought we would be getting stock this week.

It wasn't until late Thursday that confirmation was given that stock had gone out. Even then my local guys who get the stock very quickly didn't think it would arrive till Monday.

It's just the way it works im afraid.....with Ikon being in Melbourne and them shipping by road it means that its an extra day travel time to Qld. Add in the weekend and unfortunately it means Monday for you guys.

Geez man, I know its tough but I doubt there is anyone else out there who has as good of access as you to getting cards signed. Im sure there will be plenty of people happy to help you out here?

I have no issues with the Newcastle sales. Why are people allowed to sell out of Seven Hills before the other retailers get their stock.

Because like Digeze they ordered there stock from Ikon direct...... its not the stock that goes out to the Newsagents. They are a newsagent who just happens to place orders direct with Ikon. They wont get any more stock until network services sends out the remaining stock to all newsagents.

Anyone who ordered from Ikon in Sydney would have got their stock on Friday.

Mate, I have never used my position to get access to signatures. I line up and wait with all the other collectors and fans for signatures. Sure I know the Titans guys but I have never once asked for their signatures in the dressing rooms or whilst on official club duty. Its a myth that I can get signatures whenever I want.

Well, its my belief that they shouldn't have been able to sell to collectors until the Qld people who deal with ikon got theirs.

All of what Blade has said about collecting signatures is correct. There are few of us get information which we share with each other around town but there ground work that goes into that. The advantage is that he is honest true.

This is no different to select. We've always had to wait longer than NSW. I've just learnt to deal with it. Not like an adult, I still chuck a tantrum like a five year old every time, but I deal with it My family is used to it now though

Can I just say that it seems only people in Sydney NSW got the stock on Friday. Everywhere in NSW outside of Sydney, people are waiting for stock as well. I'm in Newcastle, next biggest city in NSW and nobody here has it either. Yes, I'm lucky I had access to a couple of boxes at the show, but at the moment I am no different to anyone else in QLD, I have a case coming and have already seen some things that I would really like to be trading for but can't. Very difficult to trade for something you want with something you don't have.

If the stock was all sent out on Friday instead of Thursday then everyone would have been in the same boat, but that's not how it happened. Instead we had some dealers in Sydney with the stock the next day and everyone else has to wait until Monday. I know it gives some a bit of a head start on others but I think a majority of stock has yet to be delivered so there is still plenty of dealing to be done. If anything, let's hope that we can learn from what happened this time around and not make the same mistake next time.

There have been times in the past where we have got them first in the select days. Screwed is a little strong. I think it is unfortunate but if there was a set release date while they were distributed out no one would have them yet. Have to be happy for the people who have got them and it also gives us a chance to see how well the inserts have been sorted into the boxes and cases etc.

Not in all cases, JHL offered an overnight service to Brisbane. Most times it was pretty even I think.

That's true. But I'm in NQ. It always took that extra few days. It's not an issue. I'm used to it. It's a little sad watching everyone else bust when you paid the same time as them..... I don't hate about it anymore... Lol

I live in the Manning, North Coast and i haven't got my Boxes yet, have to wait till Tuesday, Don't think a lot of NSW people have there's yet either, But there's no point in Whingeing about it.

This doesnt affect me in the slightest, i just get extremely jealous that some one is busting any type of box and not me hahahaha
How ever I feel a bit sorry for the dealers outside Sydney as they lose a bit of the initial flurry on the ebay or market, as well as trade bait for the particular cards they may be after???
Maybe they should have agents in each state hold stock until a particular date and on that date they ship it out??? just a thought
