premiership results

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

Didn't really cost ya the flag you lost by 12 and a goal is worth 6. ;)

Not a saints fan so dont really care either way. But After the poster (paid goal) geelong took it straight out of the centre for a second which they prob wouldnt have had the chance to do. But kicking at goal was what really cost the saints at least 4 easy shots missed

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

Adam Schnieder, Stephen Milne and Andrew McGualter all gave in to the pressure in front of goal.
The Hawkins poster had little influence on the result. Any Saints fans mentioning it (the point) are sore loser who can't accept the fact they lost.
The thing that really annoyed about the game, was the Max Rooke kick after the siren! Where the hell was the man on the mark or the people on the line?
It doesn't matter, I am just annoyed cause it cost me $50 dollars.
(10 or so people betted on the final result, I tipped cats by seven and when Rooke kicked the goal it was 12 points and my mate won). He had tipped cats by 11.

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

Mate if the ump had of opened his eyes and saw it hit the post saints wouldve had the ball in the goal square... but instead it was somehow counted as a goal and the cats straight away form the center break got another goal and why the **** would a saints player care about going on the line to stop the goal.. not going to make any difference

lol i tipped geelong by 11 aswell so it won me some $$ with the kick aftter the siren ;)

That's exactly why I said "It probably doesn't matter"...
I only brought that up as it cost me and hundred of betters around Aus dearly. There was a article about it in todays paper about the hundreds of thousands of dollars it cost betters.

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

The poster had No influence Wat so ever, Geelong deserved to win from the start.

You cant be serious..
Who knows what would of happend if the so called goal was called a point and cats didnt get a call straight away from the centerbreak..
Cats may of still won, but all of this talk about that controversal stupid umpire decision would not have been talken about.
And geelong deserved to win from the start?
Im sure most happy cats fans would agree with me that saints played better then the cats for more of the game, just didnt take our oppotunities.

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

Geelong had the experience and the class. St.Kilda simply failed under pressure and Geelong were the better team who DID take their opportunities.

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

Geelong Still Deserved to win..... they were fitter & also rievwolt was Crap!! all he was trying to do was showoff.. by doing his jumping crap & landing on his head!!

The only 2 good players for saints were Clinton Jones & lenny Hayes!

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

The poster was a bad umpiring miss, we called it a poster live from our view on the TV but it would have been extremely difficult for the goal ump to see it from his angle, the ball would have looked clean to him. A field umpire should have probably seen it though.

The free goal given against Milburn seemed to us to be a square up for the poster, if that sort of info can get to the field umpires that is.

In any event, it is impossible to predict what would, should or could have happened. What did happen is the Cats won their second flag in three years to a valiant and great team in St Kilda.

Geelong desrved to win they have been great for 3 years and deserved to win last year aswell.. but riewoldt was not crap, he puts in 1000% every game and is arguble the best player in the afl. How can you say he was being a show off and just jumping and trying to land on his head WTF he landed on his head once and all that was, was courage. If you watched the game yesterday you wouldve seen it was raining for just about the whole game which doesnt suit ruckman and tall forwards, there obviously not going to play there best game in the wet.

I could see the ball hit the post and i was 60 meters away sitting under a poncho

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

Dimmy,
We know u went so stop saying it & u said 70 metres before.

I Know, I actually watched every second of the game, and i know it was raining because i was camping.

Geelong Won by 12 Points, so why are u complaining??? u can't change it!!

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

All you Saints supporters complaining about the poster but what about in round 14 when the ball bounced of the post and then Nick Rievolting (I think it was?) kicked a goal on the line?

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

I dont remeber it hitting the post... but if it did happen it was no big deal it didnt make any difference to the ladder formation

Gram played well too mate, did you watch it?

Re: premiership results *spoilers*

your right Clinton, Gram had a superb match as well.

I still don't understand why Varcoe was selected over Stokes, in my opinion (correct me if i am wrong) Stokes is a better player by miles over Varcoe, but a win is a win and Varcoe had a fairly good game

Yeah I think Varcoe saved himself by having a great game against the Pies, Stokes looked a little upset as you would be. It's a tough decision.
