yeh, if you can take control of it with the forum's permission, it would be great. smc just upped and left without an explanation so it would be fair to say that the position is up for grabs. i would still be keen to donate a prize every month for the competition.
My wife and I were checking out another board stateside and they have lots of stuff going on. Now, with that being said, more market their and such, but I figure that I love the hobby and wish to see it get some life back into it. Its been lifeless for the last few months basketball wise. Lots of footy though which is great! With the lockout and all, I think this would help the basketball hobby a bit and we all can come up with some other ideas to make it interesting.
Hence why I put my hand up. I have not only the time but the will to do this, and really, if someone is going to donate a prize and I am willing to run it, why does it need the mods blessings anyway? Its a free gesture by hobbyists to other hobbyists and there is no trading or selling going on.
SO if people are interested in this, please give this post an OK, and when we get to 30 people, I will contact Westriot, find what he wishes to donate and we can get this going!

One will be Best NON auto/GU/Patch, insert or chase cards, printing plates and such. NO autos or GU allowed!
. <--- for this one, I will send the winner a nice little pack of cards. I will absorb the postage from my house to anywhere in Australia. If your outside of Australia, I will ask that you just pay the difference...

I would suggest that a Gift Certificate of $10.00-$20.00 until we can really look to afford more. This is for fun, so leave the free boxes to Panini and the Mods.
Without going into long winded soap box this is my thoughts, remember, this is a gift from members to members, so its to be used in a fun way.

It was gonna be my first POTM entry in March/May or something. The different section idea is great, my example is that the above card was gonna be smashed by the Kobe on card auto pulled the following day... at least
I really like the ideas you've come up with and would appreciate everyone who would be contributing to getting this up and going again. It was pretty exciting to see what was nominated and would be great to see that excitement back in the forum.
I'd love to help if I can in some way. Competitions are great and have a really fun buzz about them which I think your right about in that the basketball section could use that again.

IMO, $10-20 is good, you gotta remember that this is a donation from various people..
the 3 comps is a good idea.. as shaun used to do, you must provide a scan of the card, and the relevent link to the break, whether it be from a thread on here or a video link (aaron/grayson) or if its broken with gary or terry, a confirmation of the pull.
idk, you might have to draw up some rules, and put em up before you start the comp??
