Id love one, but the LCD Tv would set me back minimum $900, then the PS3 at $1000, extra controllers, bits and pieces, games $500 - your starting to look at a serious dent in a repayment right there...

you can play all ps2, ps games.. with better HDMI output.. that's why i decided not to get ps3.. coz in marketing perspective, they will continute to produce more ps2 games which can play in ps3....
I believe even ps2 games play quite nice in ps3 console..

to be under 500, i don't think it's possible at the moment, it could be the day, when everyone's using HD-DVD.. and blu-ray DVD player became like 150$...

You can't actually...not on the Australian version. It has a different chip to the Japanese version which requires specifically written code to be able to handle PS2 and PS1 games, it can do about 40-60% of the titles at the moment. I also doubt there will be too much more quality stuff coming out on the PS2....well, probably a few bits for a year or so but it will definately be very dry after that with people working on games for the new gen consoles.

exactly, i am talking about third quarter or end of this year.. when the price of ps3 will be fairly cheap.. actually, most of the gamers from Aussie bought Japan chips and been playing for a while.. i never actually see high gen games waiting for this Australia official release unless they don't know how to use eBay.. all my hard-core gamer friends always order from Japan or HK..wherever the console introduces first...

about the ps2 issues..

i am sure many of u guys will get the ps3.. coz first 20k buyers will get blu-ray casino royale..

Jus a lil update , i played F1 all weekend and it is AWSOME !!!!!! played online and servers are mutch better then xbox360 !!!! no lag at all (my adsl2 helps with that) also got resistance of man and thats not bad to !! Cant wait for GT5 that will rock but at the moment F1 is the game i will be playing !!!

I would like to get one but they are still a bit expensive at this time. I still have my PS2 and it has been working fine since 2000. Hopefully I can be able to snag one this summer who knows......

stick with the XBOX 360.. i have both PS3 and XBOX 360, and must say my PS3 has more dust on it than my router that sits under my desk and hasnt been touched/cleaned for about 3 years.

XBOX 360 is my choice.. I much prefer it

I got my PS3 yesterday and i must say it didn't blow me away. Got 3 games and a movie but because my TV is a couple of years old it does not do the graphics justice.
I'm looking foward to some better games coming out soon.
