Simple one, what do you think / expect?? @sacface started a thread a while ago but as we edge closer we start to see prices for the product confirmed @ approx $9k AUD a box/case it seems like risk is gonna outweigh reward big time IMO.( $5500/5800 USD)
For example a case break spot here in Oz is costing $300+ per spot. 30 spots 1 in 3 to 4 chance at best of even receiving a card let alone it being something of reasonable value. Panini are becoming the card version of TAB, only these odds are in the negatives. Madness if you ask me, so I am asking you...what do you think?
My prediction ... Will be HUGE to about 3 guys in Hong Kong who can afford such price tags to rip a Wiggins etc which is great for them, but for most **this will be the event you download not PPV.
**Disclaimer: I do not encourage nor condone downloading, the above mentioned is metaphorically speaking. Who would do such a thing anyway??
Who knows!! Probably 3 haha. Everything is numbered to max of 10. I guess a Wiggins or Kobe with the gold would be tops in the range. 7-10 cards in the case avg cost per card nearly $1k aud. I don't see how anything in this could be outdoing a high grade jordan rc. Boxes are always hit and miss. $100 box will rarely get you $100 back, so just because this is $9k doesn't mean most people will break anywhere near even. This is the problem with the hobby today, this product to be fair is not aimed at your general pc collector to pop a box for fun. Doesn't mean it's worth the price tag, just makes it exclusive to break, not necessarily to just own a card from it.
i might consider some singles. if anyone does break it.... even blowout is struggling to fill a break..
checklist, i think plenty of people are holding out to see what is actually in the product..
some of those cuts will bring big coin (napoleon Bonaparte ) but there has to be something else we havent seen yet, right???
I think this stuff will be a massive hit. But it's on another level, clearly it's aimed at the people with money to burn.
I'll hopefully grab a couple of base cards, but I think this stuff looks incredible. Now it just depends on how much singles go for and if anybody breaks and sells it.
But with no high end out from Panini any time soon, I think there will be plenty of buyers around. I'm looking forward to more previews.
Overall it looks nice but still not blown away with it. Think the fat gold sharpie was a poor choice to use, makes the signatures look sloppy and illegible. Think that some of the spaces provided for the athletes to sign in are poorly thought of, eg at an angle, having the serial number or patch in the way, in a corner etc. These guys are big athletes with huge hands and you really think they're going to be able to squeeze in their autos on a corner of a trading card? Meh.
Looks like Noir and Immaculate had a wild night of "togetherness" and have blended together nicely. But price point is just insane.
I agree with @OutlawNinja, really nice but $5k USD for 7-10 cards...No
and its things like this that made me leave the hobby. Panini have destroyed it. Its all about money these days, and the thrill of the chase is long gone.
Yeah, ffs, you think they could have used some better pens for signing with such a limited amount of cards. The signatures don't come up as well. The designs of the cards are fairly nice, but should have used it in something like NT!
Foreal? I would at least expect some massive patches for that price. They are tiny on the patch autos.
Some of those gold pen autos are horrible too.
And am i the only one who is not at all a fan of pieces of gold/silver/platinum incorporated in the cards? I just don't get it. It only kind makes sense when the whole things is made of gold etc (solid golds) but even then its a shyt concept.

Mate, I hate the worthless stones in Flawless. At least platinum, gold and silver actually have some value. The "diamonds" in flawless are about the same grade as they use in grinding/cutting wheels. Not worth a pinch of sh!t as an actual "gem"
I also hate cut autos while are at it. Either a card is signed or it isn't. Finding an old cheque signed by babe ruth or something, cutting out the signed bit and whacking it between cardboard is not a signed card imo. All they have done is ruined a random piece of memorabilia. Rant over ..cheers lads.
Still, i have to say, design wise these look cool but there needs to be more competition in the market. I miss UD (nba not college) Topps, Fleer Ultra etc
Panini just trying to suck every dollar out of collectors before Christmas.
They should focus on getting our redemption cards posted out to us instead of a new product.
Was interested in this product but who can afford this.
Feel like there screwing collectors over hear. i can see why people are leaving the hobby.
