I'll still collect because I love trading cards, always have always will. It is just the scope of my collection is diminishing and re-defining at a very quick rate. This means that the market for selling cards is diminishing too.
As James has stated this is just a financial reality.
It is all moot until the checklist, player names and allocations come out I guess.
I'd estimate there is a third of the traffic in the NRL section on OZCT than there was when I joined. That isn't due to the off season...
True, But there is also at least 5 times as many big dealers in the game as there was before (Digga, Newcastle Cards, League Hub etc....) And they're doing business elsewhere on their own terms through their own mediums.
The facebook thing has real legs...
Keeping abreast of what's happening and what's out there is a much bigger job these days, Not just with Dealers and stock but the collecting market as a whole....

Wonder how far off I am.
Someone call 000, a few collectors just had coronaries.
I like the Retirements, but they could change the design from year to year ...
I agree with the same themes that are continued from series to series, having the design the same can make a large set of them look awesome.I disagree - I like that there is a continual design.
I look forward to having quite a few of them as the years go on. I also though the original league sensation designs were fantastic - and that they should have continued with the exact same design - it would have been to have 20 odd club legends signature cards over 20 or so years that are the same design... Much like what they're doing with the legends
Would have to be an oversized box topperAll the players club logo's would be good, I could have added; Bailey / Ryles / Payne to the PC but how would you fit someone like Finch's all on the card.
Maybe the back of the pieces of the puzzle that form the no 1 ranked player could be printed sketches?
I agree about consistency from series to series. A change up is good but Retirements are a well themed, well presented card. The only thing I would consider changing about these is remove the club logo or put all the logos of the clubs they played or are represented on the card. Take Berrigan's retirement from 14 Traders. Two seasons with Canberra, half spent in reserves and it is technically a Raiders card when it really should have been a Brisbane card
