It is what it is, when I got there and asked to film I was a bit shocked that I couldn't, so I ran down the other end to try and warm up, I was a bit put off, but that's ok...

I was off all night actually, but we weren't playing and just running defensive rotation and offensive down/up screens+roll and boxing out on boards etc etc...

The week before was a different story, I didn't miss jack..

Not enough to impress, is a fair call, bit sloppy and zero speed and ups, not great shooting...

I like what the video shows in a way, Got to keep somethings up my sleeve..

I didn't get to warm up at the start and wasn't really paying attention, pretty obvious I was looking up the other end...

I wasn't allowed to film people in there, which to me is weird? And that's all my misses was able to get without someone else walking into the shot...

Do people really think I'd put up a vid like that of me missing a bunch of times if I had a choice?

I felt obligated to show what ever I could, I guess I can make another one with some really nice slow mo jump-shots some fade aways and some dribbling And1 mixtape style...

I might even jump with the jump shots and dribble at speed...

Not bad if you haven't played in a while. I haven't played comp in 6 years not sure my fortnightly shoot around would be the prettiest footage haha

I haven't even shot around in years until 3 weeks ago, from being challenged by a guy at work...

It's funny how things happen, It got to 5-0 (by ones) and he gave up...lol now I'm coaching him and his team and another 8 odd players that have seen me play and asked for my help(Both individually and team ball)

I might not be great at explaining things when I type, but on a basketball court I know what I'm doing...

I'm an honest person and will always do what I say i'll do, even if that's showing a bunch of airballs!

I think I might do another clip at some stage, just to show I do have a bit more skill and probably a bit quicker than the average 35 year old that hasn't played comp in almost a decade.

Nice work in gettin a vid up.

Personally I've never been a fan of all the BS tricks, you can't do that in a real game. Certainly not at State or the NBL level. Defense is far too tight.

The And1 stuff is cool and all, but that's all played with no D.

But your shot looks good.

When a baller does them stationary they serve no purpose, you're right, but if they are used in a game in motion (moving forward or side to side) well that's a different story...AI

I guess we will see if I can use them on YOU....lol

The problem is, a street baller will try these moves time and time again, most of the time it will lead to a TO or a missed pass to an open player, but the one time they pull it off it looks cool.

I'll see how I go with a vid.

I don't think I ever called you out, I just thought it would be better to settle our argument with a game instead of arguing back and forth on the net.

I doubt I can get down to Melbs this year though. But next year is a certainty.

This is why we keep getting in arguments, you just make a blanket statement citing some way of looking at a subject and that's it, any other way things can be looked at you make no mention of, your way of looking at things doesn't account for the countless players in the NBA today that use street ball tactics and have complete control of it...

CP3,Rondo,Kyrie,Lillard,Rose,.... all the better players use street ball handles...

They ain't running around like John Stockton doing basic dribbling (it use to be affective and still is, but more is needed in todays game)...

Pretty sure drobfan8 was making reference to the ball under the shirt thing and similar moves and not having good ball handling skills. A lot of the AND1 "moves" are travelling or palming violations in the NBA.

I actually don't agree with much you say Gary. It's just how it is.

I think the game revolves around playing tough team Defense and team ball. I was rarely the kid trying to do tricks. I was the guy that boxed out and played tough with no athletic ability. I've been lucky enough to play with/against current and past NBL players and play for great coaches. But we're in Australia, our local League is not very strong and most players that took their basketball serious could have done the same. It's certainly no talk up.

So I'm just gonna ignore your "Nets to beat Miami" kinda calls from now. Seriously, I mean no offense.

great thread all!!

Just started practising again recently as a half court was built in a park about 30 metres from my back door so stoked. Same as gary, im 35 havent played comp for bout 10/15 yrs. Except I only ever played in lower grades, was one of the worst players in my team(aswell as vertically challenged) , but always hustled and played hard. So the trashtalk and vids from everyone is.... simply the great game of basketball and fine by me.

Team play/Coaching- would have loved it. You have Got to respect it. Cant really beat it can ya. eg Spurs game 1 and 2 or that first ever team to beat a USA national team/ name escapes me but im pretty sure a replay of that game would be like a training drill

Sreet play- Beat your man one on one.. why not! Not And 1 style but more 3 on 3 if ya know what i mean.

Run and gun/bump and grind/hack a shaq...whatever its all basketball. And trashtalk no matter your style is the best way to play.
Always think back to the high school days, basketball every lunchtime. No free throws there, just play some ball.

Im keen to put on a vid myself and yep im always up for a game.

I don't like LeBron and I don't like Miami, I always go against them, the Nets didn't just get blown out did they?

Most the games were won or lost in the 4th off the standard Miami clutch 3 ball...Or Brooklyn not able to seal it...

I have a hard time seeing things your way when you don't account for so many things in a single blanket statement....

So ok, you don't like And1 street ballers, even if I can do all that stuff doesn't mean I just play that way all the time....

You must of labelled me in your mind and think that's how I play all the time, well it's just not the case, I can pick and choose when and where its time for a show and when and where it's time to just play...I can do both, that's the point...

If you want to do a SKILL challenge before we play, like you do something on a vid and I have to exactly match it, I'll do that too...

ANYTHING you want to put on a vid that's using your SKILLS i'll exactly match it....

I just made a new game INTERNET~HORSE!

RELAX Ben, it's just a game, you have an understanding of the game that's different to mine, that's ok it's allowed!
