Yes, it would be good to do, I can be a jerk on the internet but in person you'll realise I'm actually very reasonable and don't sound the way I come off....Sarcasm doesn't translate well on the internet...

I don't mind which way a one on one match would play out, I can be a total jerk and sh!t talk the whole time whilst giving you a hiding or I can just beat you and be nice about it...lol Just joking...

Sounds like you just want to play and I'm fine with that!

A bit more of my story, if you want to know..

The Gaze game...,
Gaze is 6.7 or 6.8 I think, yes he couldn't jump that's for sure, so getting over him wasn't all that hard, the game was a grudge match in itself with us Ballers getting angry we had to leave the court for them to use, they use to practice there all the time...

We basically called them out and said you have to play us for the court!
As we were there all the time on a Saturday....

The first dunk was a tip jam over him, that was just perfect timing and Gaze forgot to jump....

I also got a breakaway dunk with Copeland trying to come over the top, but he was far too late...

The best dunk, was a baseline backdoor cut with a great lead bounce pass and Gaze got up early trying to block me...

Well, it was like it was slow motion I knew I he was there( I went up off 2 feet) and basically had a foot on him and made a mess of him, the entire place stopped dead and that dunk ended the game...

About me and my game....,

I was a hot head in my younger years and that pretty much made me a nightmare to coach, Gaze and his dad once said I was the best WASTE of talent they had ever seen...

I tried to Play with the Giants (state and named to NBL team, played preseasons) but me being me, I made trouble there too, so I was forever benched and got put in games late just to win them...
Anytime I was used in an entire game, I'd shut down my guy and dropped 40 on whoever I faced...Or get pulled out of the game becuase my coach didn't like me scoring 15 points in a minute...lol Brett Brown was my coach. 76ers head coach now. He hated me, but used me when it was needed..

I was an idiot and could have probably done very well in a league like the NBL, it wasn't until I had an injury at 21-22 I think it was and It completely changed my mindset and how I played...

I was completely humbled I couldn't do things I use to (athletically), so I focused on shooting and having a sound fadeaway....I focused on making the game easier and did things to create space so I was always open to shoot and hit or miss my own shots and not be affect by defence, think MJ-D-wade....

I have been a different player ever since, I'm a bit unfit can't jump that high anymore,(still get the ring of course) and I'm a young in mind and old in body(I'm 35)...

I only recently got back into playing ball and I figured I wouldn't have the skill I once had, well I don't know why, but the skill is there and the game seems even easier now than it use to be, I figured I wouldn't be able to dominate how I use to, but I have been able to school a lot of athletically superior guys just in the last 3 weeks that I have been back playing...

FYI, I'm getting my fitness back with the help of playing ball twice a week, so i would enjoy the challenge of playing you one on one and look forward to it!

We as players and fans and card collectors know - INJURIES ARE A B1TCH!!

Done deal, i'll be training on Tuesday, i'll get my misses to film it...

I'm 35 98kg (dropped 12 kgs in 3 weeks) haven't played a full court game until 3 weeks ago in 8 years, can already keep up with 98% of people again...

There is film of me winning a 3 on 3 dunk comp in the city back in the day...Actually I won every dunk comp I entered in all the 3 on 3 comps in Melbourne when the ring was lowed to make it worth while for better dunks...

2 feet between the legs was the dunk I won with, BUT the ring was lowed to 9 foot to make it interesting...

And of course I could dunk 10 foot too, but not between the legs...

There is also a game from the Giants that I saw on the internet years ago, I did download it but that was on an old computer...

There sure are, but for me it was actually I good thing in a way....

I was always super confident and felt like the best player on the court always. but not having a knee under you that you can rely on and losing a everything that made me elite (athletically) really made me approach the game differently...

I think I'm a better player because of the injury, that being it made me have to develop a skill set that could actually match my somewhat limited athletic ability...

It made me slow the game down and only use speed in spurts!

That is they key to basketball...

Using speed and change of direction in spurts, creating enough space between yourself and your defender to make them never know when and where you will be leaving the ground getting in the air squaring yourself and taking clean balanced shot...The shot is to be taken slow, but creating the space is to be down at speed...

I live by this.

It basically makes your defender irrelevant and never close enough to affect you...Ben, you learn the hard way....lol

D-wade, does this, MJ did this, Kobe (to some extent did this)...

D. Wade, Kobe, Jordan and you. All the special players have that Gary.

D. Wade, Kobe, Jordan and you. All the special players have that Gary.

MJ never did it early in his career and he was the first to adopt the method after his first retirement...

He had lost his lightning first step and couldn't just blow by people with flat out speed, so he changed his approach and used his speed in spurts, not going 100% speed during every move...

He was using his speed in spurts so affectively that he found himself with so much more space between himself and his defender he could order a big-mac with cheese put up jump shot and still have time to get it off before his defender could recover...That's when he changed his game a made the jumpshot & fadeaway the best weapon the NBA has ever seen...

D-wade is so crafty he can create even more space then MJ could using the slightest pause and head fakes into lightning speed and change of direction, D -wade gets people so far off balance they might has well sit on the floor and wait to be called for a foul...

Kobe on the other hand, isn't actually as affective, he would do his moves at a fast speed and not change the timing too much so he actually comes a bit more predictable and even worse is he would settle for shots with defenders still attached to him...

So ok, do you really think I would talk this much game and not have even half the ability to back it up?

We squashed our argument in a PM, now it's just 2 ballers that are confident and feel comfortable with the challenge...

Who cares how we got here, lets just play and see who's got game....

Touché, I copied MJ, he didn't copy me...
I see what I did, I walked right into that one...

Obviously I didn't mean I changed my game 1st, I saw what MJ did and copied that, I was just adding to that, that D-Wade and Kobe are so affective because they did the same...D-wade does it the best...

I was so great that Phil Jackson himself said I would shit on the goat himself, but then I hurt my knee and became a very average player, that and my jump shot, and my hight, my dribble, my handle, my free throw shooting, my 2 point shooting, my 3 point shooting, other than that I was the shit :)

I'm pretty keen to make it happen.

Not sure when I'm in Melbs next, should give Gary plenty of time to get his game back.

Maybe a small wager involved? An M.J double maybe?

Ha ha.

Missed this post, the quicker the better as I mentioned in the PM....I'm getting fitness now, might as well use it...My shot is just fine:D

Fitness isn't great, but one on one isn't full court, i'll be ok!

As for a wager...:woot:

It would all depend on how you want to play, you being 6.4 me being 6 foot, I have no chance stopping someone with that much advantage if you choose to back me down and just use your size, so if you want to play that way i'll just hack the sh1T out of you and make you shoot freethrows (that even things up)...lol

If you want to really play ball and front me and use your skills and ability both offensively and defensively and not just back me down like Shaq would Kobe then yes i'm more than happy to put something up and sweeten the pot!

In fact, i'll even give you odds having never meet you and knowing nothing of what you can do...

How's that sound?

I was so great that Phil Jackson himself said I would s*** on the goat himself, but then I hurt my knee and became a very average player, that and my jump shot, and my hight, my dribble, my handle, my free throw shooting, my 2 point shooting, my 3 point shooting, other than that I was the s*** :)

That's good man you got me, what happens if I'm not making ANYTHING up? Where did my shot,dribble,handle,freethrow,2point,3point, go?
Find out Tuesday....

PLEASE SOMEONE CALL ME OUT ON ANY OF IT................................Where are all the ballers from Melbourne from back in the day??????????

It does happen you know, not everyone on the internet was or is useless...

I'll film the practice on Tuesday and make a utube account, lets see how far off I am, I don't care if I miss every single shot, I miss every single layup and I can't hold the ball in my hands, what ever happens, it will be available for anyone to see...Might just be able to back my talk up, been doing it my whole life...

So apparently people don't want to be filmed, so I didn't get to film the practice session, however I did get a little bit just before I started...And just at after..

I haven't showed what I can do with quickness and getting up....

here it is, watch until the end.

Your turn Ben, play fair...

Is this the video footage that was going to be put up showing your mad drinking skills? Lol

Yeah that's the one!

Thanks!

So I'm over weight, we know this...

If I'm unskilled and a total sh!T talker there is zero chance someone my size could touch the ring after only being back 3 weeks from 8 years of no playing ball...

Correct? not going to happen unless I was once able to jump higher than the average guy?

Also, I showed as much as I could as people didn't want to be filmed, I also purposely didn't show EVERY thing I could do If I actually wanted to, for people like you to think I have no chance...

So I'm slow, fat, can't shoot, can't dribble, can't jump, and i'm completely unskilled...

Make the game happen, I'm not scared...

how about this,

I'm happy to play Ben one on one and have the entire game filmed and uploaded to this site no matter what happens...even if it's me getting my ass kicked and not having a chance...I'm completely fine with that! Not like you guys wouldn't want that!

But if it goes the other way and I control the game and win it, will that be enough for people?

If he's willing to play and have it filmed, than we should make the game happen on a weekend in Melbourne in the next few weeks/months...

All I ever do on the internet is get taken the wrong way, I never re-read what I type and probably don't explain myself enough or maybe too much, I'm not going to just keep doing it over and over, so i'll stop, when ever the game is to be played i'll play...

In the mean time, i'll see if I can get a bit more fitness back and just maybe get enough up's to dunk again...
