Kobe is all about Kobe... I understand that you need to look out for yourself, however if it means your putting the team you love in a bind, then you really need to think about what your true intentions are. He makes more off marketing every year, I am sure a few million in less taxes to the US government is not going to kill him or his reputation. Lebron was a jerk for the DECISION, however he backed up what he said 2 times. Got some credibility back.
I am interested in seeing how Brooklyn does to be honest, though I am a true Orange and Blue Knicks fan, I like what Brooklyn is trying to do, wish it was not with older players, but hey, anything can happen.
Time to start a new Brooklyn Collection to go with my Knicks.
Pretty obvious that the Nets aren't a team built for the regular season. As long as this team gets at least a 5th seed they will be fine. This team is built for the playoffs
Still experimenting with lineups and keeping vet mins low - in OT down to Wizards and KG and Pierce have played only around 23 mins and 4 pts/6-8 reb each.
man can believe deron is struggling so much... not even averaging double figure scoring and currently only 7 assists a game, even with all that talent around him. Garnett also struggling shooting only 30%fg and averaging only 6ppg... i know they got him for leadership & postseason and that, but surely the club would disappointed with that
pierce seems to be a nice fit and lopez performing nicely, such a poor rebounder for his size though
as a whole, they need some more time to get in the groove and start to blend a little better, its all little disjointed so far
1st quarter - pretty even game, back and forth up the court. Refs called stop/start travel VERY tightly. 3 times on Nets players in the quarter. Nets switching their matchups liberally - JJ and KG taking turns guarding Cousins. Lopez switching between Cousins and THompson. Not many plays run that I could tell, Pierce jacking a few shots up and Deron having a couple turnovers on unsuccessful drives. Kings lead 23-19.
2nd quarter - a few missed rebounds leading to second chance opps for Kings let lead go out to 10 a minute in. Lead out to 18 with 3mins to go. Deron didn't exploit the size mismatch with Isaiah Thomas until 2min30 remaining and when he began to, Kings subbed Vasquez in. Kings lead 12 at half.
3rd quarter - Cousins playing some great D. KG unable to get past him on the drive. Kings lead out to 20, a spark from Marcus Thornton. Nets 2nd unit leaving holes in the D everywhere. Kings lead 80-59.
4th quarter - Nets start all small, get lead to 14 before Kings adjust. Nets bring in big lineup and lead balloons out to 19 after a offensive foul call and a turnover leading to a 3. Bench mobs from here out.
Kings played like they wanted it more. Joe Johnson a woeful shooting night. Can still tell the Nets players don't know what the other is supposed to be doing in certain plays. Kidd is really inactive on the bench. KG has lost that ability to make that top of the key shot that he used to be money on. I think they can turn this around for sure but coach needs to be heard more and not let the players run whatever they want. (Probably not what is happening but that's what it seems like! Sitting on the bench with his finger on his mouth! Be pissed off when you're down 10 or 12, not placid when down 20 in the 3rd!).
