Official 2015-16 NBA Season Thread

The Hawks need this next win in game 4.
For the chance to keep the series alive, for the fans and for Al Horford & Kent Bazemore to stay.

Hate to say it mate, but i think Horford will leave and they may end up trading teague in the offseason. It will be shame cause i love watching all of them play together

Surprised no1 has brought up the firing of Frank Vogel? Shocking decision imo...That team doesn't have much talent and his managed to keep them competitive the last 2 season even when PG went down, they still recorded around 40 wins i think?

Dave Joerger also fired by the Memphis Grizzlies for seeking permission to talk with other teams regarding vacancies. Apparently its the 2nd time in 3 years that this has happened

I know. I am a hopeful person, but unfortunately it will be hard to keep Horford from leaving.

I'm drawn between trading Schroder & Teague. PHI offered us one of their 3 first round picks, Nik Stauskas, Ish Smith & something else for Schroder on trade deadline day, so we know an idea of what we'd get with Schroder leaving. Teague would probably be around the same amount, but as I said, we don't know what we're getting in him. For the rest of the team, Kent Bazemore should be signed almost immidiately if Horford leaves, Kyle Korver is 35 this year and would be drawing up retirement plans & Walter Tavares & Tiago Splitter will get better spots on the team if Horford leaves due to his center void.

I'd accept the Schroder trade and run. He hasn't been performing well in the playoff games (not like the team that want him most will be playing in one for a while), and this year's draft class is pretty exciting.
Plus Nik Stauskas was my favourite draft prospect in 2014 after Embiid & Wiggins, sadly for him he's played on the two worst managed teams in the NBA, which means he still has potential, and lots of it.
And Ish is a decent replacement for Dennis in the backcourt.

No he's not, LMA plays nothing like TD.

I'll say it again, Horford would be the perfect replacement for Duncan.
Near 7 footer who can stretch defences by shooting from the outside, can play with his back to the basket, rebounds, blocks shots, can drive..he's more athletic than TD, but really, who isn't. We're not talking about if they play exactly the same, we're talking about who's going to replace Duncan when he retires, and I think it's a pretty good indication that the Spurs winning 67 games with TD averaging career lows on minutes while missing over 20 games, shows that Aldridge is already filling up his spot quite nicely. Don't you think?

The Spurs need another big. It's quite simple. A big that can move the ball like Horford would be perfect. Duncan's defense will also be missed which is another reason Horford would be perfect. LMA doesn't bring that to the table even though he's not a poor defender.

I would be trying to get him and a guard instead of chasing KD.

They might need to get a serviceable centre but I disagree that a 67 win team needs to get another max/near max player to contend. What they need is youth to replace those who are retiring, ie Tony and Manu. The point guard position is where they need to focus on IMO. Patty is a serviceable backup but not quite there to be a full time starter and Andre is prehistoric. They'll need to find a 6th man to be the guy who contributes like Manu did and I don't think Martin is really that guy.

I disagree that they don't need a big man. If Duncan retires, they will. Horford is the perfect passing big man to go after.

I also said they need a guard but Kawhi does so much in the way of pushing the ball they probaby don't need anybody too expensive just yet.

Being a 67 win team doesn't mean you don't try to improve. If the Spurs want to win the championship they need to be able to beat GS. Stacking your team with as much skill and talent will be the key. Diaw and Boban are not going to get it done as starters.

Just a couple of questions I want to ask you all.

1. How long do you think til the TWolves are realistic playoff contenders?

2. Do you still think my Hawks will be playoff contenders next year, with an aging Korver, Horford expected to leave & Bazemore, our biggest improver this year, in free agency?

3. Next season PHI will have not only Joel Embiid back (Well, it seems like he'll be back) & my man Dario Saric will more likely than not be coming over to Pennsylvania.
Who's more affected by two new rookie big men; Nerlens or Jahlil, and how many games do you think they'll improve by/drop by from this year's total with Saric & Embiid?

4. Assuming you know your draft prospects, which player/s do you want your team to draft and why?

I think they'll be challenging for a playoff spot next year, Thibs is a great coach and I think Wiggins is ready.

Hard to know with the Hawks, Millsap is pretty good and we don't know if Horford will leave. I think they'll be in the playoffs again though.

Philly, hard to know, they still don't have quality guards so unless they can make some moves. I like Nerlens and Jahlil, Philly will probaby sub 5 on and 5 off knowing them:)

I want the Spurs to draft Simmons at 29th. :)

They'll probably end up with a Manu/Dragic type player though who'll be a steal.

1.) Next Year, KAT/wiggins/lavine will be EPIC next year
2.) maybe,
3.) i think jahlil might be more effected by embiid/saric.

4.) id like us to get valentine, maybe skal labissiere if he drops to us,
valentine would be good off the bench, with mcbuckets, and labissiere would be a good backup to noah/gibson/mirotic, with the combo youth of him & portis, would be nice.

just my .02

@thePACisback I don't think Philly is a fan of jahlil because of his defensive deficiencies and because he doesn't fit in a fast paced offense. I expect them to move him if they can get good value in return. Ish Smith player great for them last year.

Thunder providing some resistance to the Spurs and overcoming an early double digit deficit to level the series. Game on.

Kevin Durant. Enough said.

What a performance in the 2nd half especially, down by 8. Shooting 4/12 from the field at half time, then comes back and shoots 10/13 in the 2nd half :worthy:

Uhhh, that Spurs loss hurt. They looked good early following the play by play.

This is the thing, OKC have 2 incredible players that cause chaos and they both got the job done. Spurs needed some more shot making by the looks of it. Big game 5 coming up. I'll be honest, I've been worried about this match up from months ago. The Spurs struggle with unpredictable squads.
