Official 2014-15 NBA Regular Season Thread

Massive trade for the Mavs picking up Rondo, and realistically, they gave off Brandan Wright and that's it. Crowder has disappeared on the bench and Nelson has been under-performing as a starter with Harris/JJ coming off the bench out-doing him. The Draft Picks are possibly protected (first rounder protected 1-3 and 15-30), and no one cares about the second rounder.

Wright will be missed, but I think the Mavs are looking at signing Jermaine O'Neal if he decides to come back to the league. - Also, not sure on if there's anything to make of it, but read some whispers that Mavs COULD be interested in Bucks' John Henson? Not making anything of it yet, as I can't find anything but tweets, and they're most likely fan-based tweets.

Rockets also picking up Corey Brewer is interesting, not really a move they had to make, if anything another big would have helped them more, but a trio of Harden, Ariza and Brewer could be a defensive nightmare for oppositions should they ever want to run it. Certainly looks like the Wolves are done (again) this season, offloading players.
man this is just so sweet rondo at the mavs , this makes them a team to beat, and i htink they will get better towards the end of the season....

The next thing that should happen (but won't), is that SVG should sack himself as coach! All the talk when he was hired was about a need to change the culture of the franchise. I was unaware that would mean losing games as much as this team has. To me, it seems that while he hasn't played up to his capabilities (nobody else has either), he's been made the scapegoat. He'll wind up on a team that has a clue about what it's doing and I say good luck to him. Real hard to be a fan of this team right now:(

SVG has come out saying the team is going forward with the youth policy that's why they waived him. They should've traded him at the very least.

I'm hearing there wasn't much of a market for a guy shooting under 40% from the field and under 50% from the line. Sacramento were interested but wanted a 1st round pick as well. Pistons have used the "Stretch Provision" to extend paying off this deal over 5 years to lessen the hit on the salary cap.

One of two things are going to happen.

1) the team will go forward with the current line up and try to please Monroe enough to stay this summer
2) they will move Jennings for next to nothing, then try and get anything back for Monroe before he comes a free agent and play out the season with Dinwiddle, KCP & Drummomd the core to see what each can do before heading into the next draft.

Imho Jsmooth is in a hump, he should bounce back with any team who picks him up, as stated he is shooting poorly this year and basically since he's been with the pistons.
Looks like they will try retain Munroe on the cheap.

The guy is gonna get paid till 2020 by the pistons, plus whatever other cash whoever signs him on.... not a bad spot to be in!

He was untradeable, the huge contract, shoots way to many 3's, and won't lisen to coaches, eg uncoachable, no team on the rebuild will give up anything of value while taking on the contract, he should sign with a contender to repair his rep, but the teams with the most money to thro at him are the bad ones, do Houston still have that trade exception? Would be a nice pick up for them. He should go to the bulls tho so then he can play outside more because they already have enough around be rim players :)

Got a early knock off from work since im working xmas day and new years day, Just saw James the beard harden go in on the 1st quarter with 19 points! Corey brewer and Alexey Shved both suited up and playing for the rockets.

Good day of ball on!

Watching bulls v raptors - cracking first quarter!

I also couldn't keep watching Denver v Charlotte. That game was so ugly.

They were down 10 after 4 mins and down 22 not long into the second quarter. Faried seems to have found his rhythm today however. 8 pts (2/3 shooting), 9 rbs in 22mins.
