Official 2014-15 NBA Regular Season Thread

Also, surprised no one has mentioned that Lebron wants max money....

Wade & Bosh (and Haslem) have opted out trying to renegotiate (for less money) so the team can rebuild, and Bronsky wants the most he can get?!?!

Just an interesting titbit, in his entire career so far Lebron has never been the highest earner on his team. Pretty crazy when you think about it huh?

Funny thing saying Kyrie's 90mil for 5 is 'deserved'...Yet question Brons reported demand of a max deal??

So he doesn't deserve to be the highest paid player on the Heat (or any) team??? riiiiiight gotcha.

Assuming you're talking to me here... I didnt actually say he DOESN'T deserve max money. All three (or 4 with Haslem) have opted out with anticipation to re-up for longer years and smaller contracts to help the Heat build a better team, to put them in a better position (now and long term) at winning more titles. With Lebron asking for max money, it puts the Heat in a serious predicament where they'll possibly have trouble building said team around him and his contract - which'll most likely start around the $20m-$22m range. With overall cap of about $53m, and Wade and Bosh and Haslem still to sign on, how much do you think they'll have left to chase FAs and resign the rest of their roster????

Hypothetically, let's say Wade and Bosh both get $10m and Bron gets $20m. Haslem signs on for $3, which leaves about $10m to chase a solid FA and resign the rest of their roster.... It's going to be tight!!!

He deserves max money, sure, but he also wants to win and help rebuild the Heat to a stronger winning platform.

well said ................

Shaun Livingston agrees to a 3-year, $16 million contract with the Golden State Warriors.

I like this deal for Livingston. From a player who broke his knee some years back, the way he played last season certainly earned brownie points, and it's shown with GSW. I have doubts the Nets would have won the games they did last year without Livingston.

Hopefully if Mavs get Harris for the $9m/3yr deal they originally agreed to last year (before his injury), and not one similar to this for Livingston, I'll be happy!!

That was my point.. Surely he deserves the max, unquestionably. You seemed to be questioning his reason for asking it.

Anyone that wants to hitch-hike their way to the Eastern Conference Finals for the next few years better be ready to offer the max too.
For the Heat, Wade and Bosh and the rest of the crew won't get them there. And if Bron leaves.. no FA superstar would walk in there and try to replicate 4 straight Finals trips when the wheels are half fallen off.

Bron wants max, Bron should get max. The rest will have to settle with whatever is left over.

Micky Arison should just sit the feck down and be prepared to pay the repeater tax. you want a shot at the ring every year with Bron at the helm.. its going to cost you.

Miami Heat big man Chris Bosh is seeking a contract that will pay him $90 million over five years, a source dialed in with Bosh's thinking told FOX Sports Ohio on Wednesday. Bosh is negotiating with the Heat, but no deal is done yet, the source said.

Wow, that is big money. A bit more than I'd (and I bet Micky A) expected him to ask for. :p

Maybe its all part of this elaborate plan to appear money hungry vigilante free agents.. then all re-sign with the Heat for way less so they appear so selfless and thus winning the adoration of more fans and some of those haters.. lol

It's all smoke and mirrors in Miami, that's all I can say. When the contracts are up for renewal, you see where their legions lay....

Whatever man, not sure what you're trying to say??!?
This is what has transpired;
First you question Bron's desire for more money, yet say Kyrie is desrving of his huge contract (yet he hasn't taken Cleveland out of their hole in the east)
Then you say Bron is 'ALL about the Benjamins' YET facts are; he took less than the max for 4 years to join Miami.
Now after 4 years of seeing who is the best team player and individual on the Heat team and possibly the whole league for 4 years, he's shouldn't be asking for the max??? Regardless of re-tooling the Heat, that's not Bron's burden to bear.
I don't see any smoke and mirrors, looks pretty black and white to me.
But I'll leave it with you. I'm out.

See where 'their legions lay'? Perhaps you mean allegiance?
