Bynum what was the reason behind him wanting to leave?
How does that work for the bulls as there 2 starting Noah and Boozer.
I'd take Noah over Bynum and if they start Bynum and Noah where is the scoring going to come from??

I guess the Bulls are intending to TANK since Deng was going to be expiring this year anyway. I guess they are saving themselves some coin too by only paying half of Bynum's salary. Weird trade anyway...
*edit, noticed that they gave up 3 first rounders for Deng! He could very well walk this year and they end up with nothing and 3 less picks... wow

Cavs gave up 2 second rounders, Kings 2014 1st round pick which i think is protected 1-14 and the Bulls have the option to swap 1st round picks with the Cavs in 2015
Regardless good move for Cavs this will make them alot better as they were missing the scoring from Gee and not get it in Deng with better defense even though Gee is a great defender
I agree.
Amare untradeable due to huge contract.
Bargnani/Chandler limited trade value
Shumpert some trade value
hardaway/Prigioni some trade value as prospects
JR Smith little to no trade value
Melo - Value but they will want/need every penny in return.
If anyone missed it -I love fooling around with the trade machine and making up trades.
Leaves the Bulls very light at PG, but they pull the trigger to get star power with DRose out.
The knicks strengthened at SF, allowing Shumpert to move back to SG.
Melo approves the trade to take the risk to play with DRose on his return, a star in the making in Butler and 2 work horses inside to rebound all his misses!
Appendix 1 - and before anyone picks on my workhorses comment -
Noah and Boozer - 21.7 FGA and 17.9 rebs (and I'd guess FGA is up without Rose)
vs
Stoudemire and Bargnani - 18.6 FGA and 8.4 rebs
That's what all the rumours are saying...... but any thoughts on maybe another #23 coming to the BUlls??????
Lebron is a free agent (Player Option) at the end of the season as well!
The Bulls potentially will miss the playoffs (or just scrape in - currently 6th in East) - meaning lottery pick for them.
The Sacramento Kings’ first-round pick they got in this trade, which is top-12 protected in 2014, top-10 protected from 2015-17. So meaning they could have their own lottery pick in a stacked draft, plus Sacramento's.
They'll amnesty Boozer at the end of the season so they will have plenty of cap space to play with.

With the moves today, the Bulls look to be placing themselves in the market for one of the big Free Agent possibilities. At the end of the day, they are trading out Deng and Boozer for the chance to make a run at Melo (most likely), LeBron (the Dream) and Wade (the hometown guy - move Butler to the 3, could work well).

Poor Chicago always misses out, d-wade made it seem like he was going to sign just to make his DVD more interesting. They miss out huge on that free agent class, now with rose injured they may again be putting all their fruit in one basket, that may come up empty yet again.
