Official 2011-2012 Playoff thread

IMO, MIA don't need a PG when they have two elite players who demand the ball 9/10 possessions, making an effective pass-first PG irrelevant.

Thats why a PG like Nash would be great, he calls the plays and passes those passes that get buckets with little effort. The fact LB or Wade can do these superfreak moves/shots is just a testement to their ability, its not good basketball though. Boston are showing this, Rondo is proving worth every bit as much as any MVP.

I know, opinions ... :)

I have heard a little chat around Knicks froums that Toney Douglas might be on his way to South Beach next season.

gees...if miami lose, which is looking more than likely i reckon spolestra is gone...about time he actually drew up some plays and not have to rely on wade and lebron doing everything!!!
big changes in south beach me thinks!!!!

Think you could be right Aram, but who?... I can think of two who could coach those egos. Unfortunately one retired at the end of last season and the other is busy in San Antonio :)

Wow...... Boston are really playing well atm...... props to them; didn't think they would do this well!

Have faith, OKC are taking it baby! Durant's time has come... gonna be awesome.

Let's just say I'm "quietly confident" haha

What call are you referring to?? I thought the calls late in the game were pretty good!

And both teams were flopping throughout the game. Harden and Parker particularly!

The only thing that kept SA in it at the end was Westbrook's lack of ability to get the ball to a red got KD!

What call? There were too many to pick one in particular lol...... TP and Manu were flopping all over the place. If you want one play in particular, how about the one where TP gave Westbrook no room and was basically humping him and then flops on the ground like he got bashed in the face when Westbrook tried to move his arm.

agreed - in theory.

however credit has to be given to stephen jackson's and Leonard's defense on Durant the whole game. they made it very hard to get the ball to durant. in game 4, durant would just go off a pick and get parker switched on him. spurs made the right adjustments and jackson either fought through the screen or had a counter screen to break him open so he could get back of durant. Leonard was like a glove on durant.

we were damn lucky that harden hit those shots at the end. westbrook and parker sort of had a flop party and their bone head moves countered each other out.

westbrook did hit that jumper to get the score from 101-99 to 103-99. i thought was that pretty clutch.

Finally...... somebody that makes sense. People love to hate on Westbrook when things go wrong and KD ain't getting the ball, it's always Westbrooks fault lol....... there is another part to it and that is KD working to get himself open; and I was watching him during those last 5 mins and he wasn't really presenting a lot of opportunities for WB to get him the ball.

Funny thing is the people that love to fault Westbrook all the time, they conveniently fail to acknowledge when he does some great plays; like the clutch shot he made at the end there.

You can pick just one or two of the calls that went against OKC, but you have to acknowledge the calls that went the other way too! It was a poor reffing performance all round and isn't fair to just pick the ones in the last 5 mins!
I agree the Westbrook offensive from TP hitting his shoulder was a bad call! But so was the 'blocking' foul on Duncan when WB was driving in!Win some, lose some

Conveniently the 'only person who makes sense' is a OKC fan too!

There will always be different takes on the game and on players. I don't think anyone doubts that WB is a star when he turns up, but for me, the last 5 minutes were unacceptable. As a PG you are in control of the way your team moves. He could have/should have been able to get it to KD, but didn't make the right moves! Even using Ibaka or Harden to get the angles moving will usually be enough to free up a player, even if they are being stuck to like glue!

Hated the result, but it was a great game. Boston straight out BEAT Miami.
Although i think if Miami dont win the whole thing this year, Spo will be shown the exit.
But it was the Heat players that didnt give themselves a chance to win that game, not the coach.
The transtion defense was poor in the last couple of plays.
And as much as i hate Paul Pierce, props to him... that 3 was HUGE.
(considering the way he was playing all night)
.... still think (hoping) Miami in 7

Parker looks to be on a mission tonight! Westbrook too!

Looks like both want to silence their critics!
