Nah mate... although depends on your own pain threshold. Mine is pretty good. I have 6 (will have to get pics). THe one at the top of my spine/back felt like it was grinding into the bone lol. But i like the feeling ha ha
Its strangely addictive. They say once you get one you are bound to get more.
Got some new ink yesterday
I already had the lion, but added the latin phrase "Fortune Favours The Brave" under it.....
And this is another dedication to my brother. I played this Metallica song at his funeral, so got the first 3 lines on my left outer forearm.....

Love the tatt mate, the lion is so sweet!! I dont know latin that well but i have read a lot of stuff about meanings behind some of the famous quotes and i hate to break it too you, but that tatt is a phrase from Virgil’s Aeneid, book X, line 284, were the latin: “Audentes Fortuna iuvat†means ["Fortune favours the boldâ€]. exactly the same meaning behind it just differed word.... but just so you know the latin word for 'the brave' is 'fortibus'

Nice tatts boys! Im currently thinkin of gettin my first one and jus wondering if you've got any tips for where on the body, when etc etc...I've heard that once you pick something to wait a year and see if you still like it or not before gettin it done. I did this when i first turned 18 and bloody glad i didnt because i was gonna get something jus for the sake of it. Now ive got my family shield i wanna get somewhere...this is it....
That's a redrawn pic from 1950's because the original was screwed...but yeah thinkin that prob in black and white and maybe looking for better designs on the 3 lions heads and 3 chevron's (birds) also maybe change the style of writing. Would my best bet be to head into a tattoo parlour and tell the bloke what i want? Also does anyone have a really rough idea of how much it'd cost would prob look at gettin it maybe the size of your whole hand. Any info would be awsome!
...Also thinking of maybe putting my surname "Vivian" accross the top in another banner, would this be too much though?

You've definitely got to know what you want, and be sure that you want it. The bicep is generally a sweet place, depends how personal you want it - others to see it freely or keep it hidden under your clothes... and also if you want to be able to see it easily.
Yeah well thats the thing, my aim is to join the MFB, which is Victoria's premier fire brigade and they arent a massive fan of visable tatts when you first join...afterwards it doesnt seem to be an issue but yeah, really unsure where to get it :-k
Maybe it is worth waiting mate? I think your idea would look pretty sweet on your shoulder (like where my lion is). Your best bet is definitely to go into a tatt shop or 3 and speak to an artist about what you want mate. They should be able to draw it up for you and give you an idea on cost.

Yeah its sick writing man looks nuts and good that actually means something to you and your family!
the first ten min were pretty bad...but by the 2 hour mark i was just cracking the #$$%^ and wanting out...and it felt like the ribs were dragging the pain across my chest etc..Its strange but all the tattoos I could see getting done didn't hurt, just the ones that I could't see what was going on were painful
