Dragons prop Trent Merrin has re-signed with St George Illawarra for the next three seasons.​

In a major boost for coach Steve Price, Merrin told the Mercury he was always determined to stay at the club in his bid for a second NRL premiership​

‘‘I’m just happy to get the contract stuff out of the way,’’ he said.​

‘‘Now I can just worry about playing footy and doing my best for the Dragons.’’​

The 22-year-old came off the bench in the 2010 grand final victory over the Roosters.​

But it was last year where Merrin announced himself as one of the star forwards of the NRL competition, earning a NSW State of Origin jersey.​

He signalled 2012 to be an even bigger year, after running for 183m, 33 tackles and 25 runs in 52 minutes of game time in the 15-14 victory over Newcastle in round one.​

It's a few days old but haven't yet seen it on the boards but the Dogs have signed a 3rd player for 2012
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have signed Wests Tigers utility back Mitch Brown to a one year deal covering the remainder of the 2012 National Rugby League season.
Brown joins the Bulldogs this week after being granted an immediate release by his former Club.
