Someone at NRLHQ has seen prices of tickets on Ebay (in the past) and said 'hey, we'll have a piece of that. Was $100, now $200'.

Meanwhile, NRL clubs are basically given club match tickets away now.

The Tickets I paid $150 for last year are $220 this year and we were on half way but in the nosebleeds.

Most people are saying stuff it..... ill order Pizzas, lots of drinks, sitting in the comfort of home with no lines for the toilets and spend a fraction of what it costs being there.

$200 max should be the highest priced tickets (diamond) down to $50 in the nosebleeds. You would sell it out then.

I pay $220 to sit 15 rows from the field on the halfway line for the whole season at Penrith 11 or so games.

They've messed with the SoO formula. Hell, they did the same thing last year with Grand Final tickets, whacking up the prices so the people we always went with ended up not going (and in the end we didn't go either). SoO makes it's money from TV…the 50k or 80k who turn up to the games are trivial to the overall bottom line.

I grew up in the 1980's when SoO was a TV game. Sad to say, I've never been to a single SoO match as it's just traditional to go to family's houses, eat pies, peas and mash and sink tinnies (even got slabs of KB when it was out a few years back!). And now with kids…well…

Qld by 7 in Game 1.

Anything can happen on the night, not the exact Blues team I'd pick but I'm a fan so will stick true.

Blues by 1 with a Hodkinson field goal. i haven't been for a few years and like said its a tradition that my mates footy team mates come over with their dads BBQ beers and tears.

My son 15 and his mates can't remember the Blues winning a series....our time will come.

Re: Origin Prices, its all about supply and demand, in the early days when The Footy Stadium was built prices were around $25.00 a ticket which most fans found to be too high, it didn't take too long for the fans to realise that the Footy Stadium was a good place to watch a game and from the early 90's on the games were almost sellouts.
Up in Queensland the ground didn't have the capacity of the SFS and thus sold out quickly, for the last 20 years both grounds have been almost at capacity in nearly every game even when the Olympic Stadium was taken on by the Blues, a bigger ground to fill but when they did they were able to adjust the prices to supply and demand.
For the last four seasons a group of us have been part of the Blatchies Blues!, but this year when the tickets were purchased the Blatchies Blues were sold out so we have to slum it with the more wealthier supporters this time around, no dramas here we have to pay a bit extra because the tickets have been sold out, up in Qld all the cheap seats have been sold and now the fans are having a whinge because 'if' they want to go to the game then they just have to pay a little extra, supply and demand, if it doesn't happen then our economy will downfall just like Spain & Greece, do you want that to occur here in Oz, I know that not every Aussie fan can make it to an Origin game but I had to wait my time to be able to do so as I had other committments but once you go and become part of the atmosphere you'll wonder why it took you so long to do so.

Convicted and given a 2 year good behaviour bond i believe.

The chooks have had this lined up for ages and have a strategy to get him back this is Step 1
