Jack Wighton is on the wing at the moment but is a much better centre. I would imagine for the interim though Joel Thompson will play centre and Wighton will stay in the wing as Lee is out for 3 months

Jordan Rapana looks like he will be signed soon so hopefully he is good enough that we can keep JT in the back row with Wighton in the centres.

The National Rugby League has suspended the registration of Canberra’s Blake Ferguson over repeated behavioural issues involving the abuse of alcohol.

Ferguson will not take part in the second State of Origin game and the NRL will reserve its decision on when he may be able to resume playing until it is in a position to assess any further relevant facts with the Canberra Raiders and the NRL Integrity Unit.

“The fans do not want to see the game tarnished and neither do the players,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr Dave Smith, said today.

“It’s time for people to understand that the game isn’t going to accept this sort of behaviour.

“The first step in Blake’s case is to make a clear call in relation to Origin and tomorrow we will consult with the Raiders to determine the minimum period we would look at in terms of suspension.

“We have worked closely with both the NSWRL and the Canberra Raiders during this process and there remains genuine concern for the welfare of the player.

“We will offer every support to address any issues but there also has to be a clear deterrent.”

Still 6 months away till next year. He'll probably not do any gaol time, even if he does I couldn't imagine it being any longer then 6 months.

No way he had to hand in his passport. I know a heap of people that have been arrested for assault and never anything to do with passports

This is indecent assault or sexual assault which is much more serious than a standard assault.

When granting bail the court will take into account the persons capacity to travel and in this case given he resides in the ACT and has plenty if $$ plus the ability to travel I would think it is highly likely his passport would be handed in. I doubt if found guilty he would serve actual imprisonment but if convicted that would definitely affect his ability to travel and indeed work overseas.

In saying that he is still innocent until proven guilty so let's just wait and see what happens

Most blokes would give their left arm to play origin. This clown was shown how close he was to stuffing it up before and got given a second chance. He is an absolute grub. If they pick someone like Merritt even though I think he isnt good enough, at least he will treasure the jumper.

Nope, wasn't an accident:)....

A South Sydney Rabbitohs player is believed to be the young man charged with ramming a sign through the window of a car in Cairns.
Queensland Police have confirmed a 21-year-old NSW man used a sign he found in the street to smash the rear window.
He allegedly damaged a vehicle at Redlynch, in Cairns, about 2.45am (AEST) on Monday.
A police spokesman says the 21-year-old was charged with two counts of wilfully damaging a vehicle shortly after the incident.
He will front Cairns Magistrates Court on July 10.
Police would not confirm media reports that the player is young Rabbitohs prop George Burgess.
Burgess, from the UK, plays for South Sydney alongside his brothers Tom, Luke and Sam.
Comment has been sought from the club.

come on tom step up to the plate son and say it was you not george. i need you george for my supercoach so best let your brother take the fall

Weird for a South Sydney 1st grader to be walking the streets of Cairns at 2:45am on a Monday morning. It's not like they had a bye last week or this week....and both games were/are in Sydney.

So he got on a plane on Sunday to Cairns...boozed up all night and walked the streets looking for trouble....and then was going to get back to Sydney Monday/Tuesday for training? (I'm assuming the boozed up bit purely because level headed sober people usually don't walk the streets at 2:45am putting signs through car windows).

Ah yes, that makes more sense. I just saw it was a Souths home game.

Burgess brothers are getting blacklisted by me in Supercoach. 1st Sam went and got suspended for their clash in the first major bye round when troops are low and cost me a win. Now Georgie has done it for the 2nd major bye round
