Thats what i have heard, no difference in selling a Baggy Green / War medals / Brownlow (didn't a player sell one).

He was not shown the door they released him so he could take up a more lucrative contract and extra years as well, same as why the sharks released him, he had a year to go with them, and he is been able to squeeze out an extra 2 more years on a very good contract with the Knights, Bennett was looking after him at the time, he would never have been offered the money that the sharks or knights have offered him, at the Dragons...

It is funny. Most players don't give a s#it about it (and I don't mean this in a mean or disrespectful way), it's just they were good enough to compete at a high level.

My brother's mate is an Australian Test cricket player. We're all very reverant of the baggy green, but they couldn't care less.

A good mate of mine was a Wallaby, and he played 30+ Tests, and couldn't give a rats, where I used to idolise him (still do) and be in the crowd cheering him on. Gave all his jerseys away except his debut jersey.

My brother in law played for the Bulldogs. Mates of mine who are dogs fans just love him. He doesn't even care he played.

But I did score a shoebox full of 2-3 mint sets of 1988 pink and 2 full mint sets plus leftovers of the 1987. I gave him a case of beer for them, which he was embarrassed to take because he thought only 10 year olds collected footy cards.

He doesn't know it, but sometimes I go in to the spare room at my mother in law's house and gently touch his old HYUNDAI Bulldogs jersey hanging in the cupboard.***
