Toka Likiliki (Warriors) ,Bennett has signed him up for the Knights for next year...

If he was the Likiliki that played in yesterdays toyota game that would be a great signing. He was unstoppable from about 10 metres out. makes Vautuvei look small

ARL's big blunder on Josh McGuire

EMERGING Brisbane Broncos star Josh McGuire has been embarrassed by the Australian Rugby League's mistake in yesterday naming him in the Kangaroos train-on squad despite his status as a current Samoan international.
McGuire, 21, last night said he was "excited" to be called into the train-on squad for the upcoming Four Nations series in Britain. But The Daily Telegraph can reveal McGuire will be told by red-faced ARL officials that selectors had made a blunder in naming him in the squad.

Broncos teammates Matt Gillett, Ben Hannant, Justin Hodges, Corey Parker, Sam Thaiday, Jharal Yow Yeh and retiring skipper Darren Lockyer were also named.

ARL chief executive Geoff Carr last night confessed to the gaffe, with McGuire unable to be considered for Australian selection because he is tied to Samoa until the 2013 season.

"The selectors were unaware of Josh's eligibility (status)," said Carr, who admitted the situation had not been helped by an illness that forced Bob Saunders who co-ordinated the selectors' phone hook-up home early yesterday.

Carr also said there had been confusion because players were being picked in the train-on squad for not only the Four Nations series, but a Prime Minister's XIII playing against Papua New Guinea, a match in which McGuire would have been eligible for selection because it was not an official Australian team.

McGuire was not named in the Kangaroos train-on squad until yesterday:

"It was only late in the afternoon today that we realised he needed to rectify it," Carr said last night.

The Daily Telegraph reported on September 10 that Broncos general manager of football operations Andrew Gee had warned McGuire he would harm his Origin chances by playing for Samoa.

Oh wow...Coote at 5/8th...that's insane. I watched the Panthers last game against the Broncos and he deadset had two try assists...to Brisbane. Turnstile in defense, i finally saw what Girds has been complaining about all this time. In attack, he kicked one 40/20 attempt out on the full...then in the 2nd half he got a 40/20 and then on the 2nd tackle of a back-to-back set after it, he grubbered it dead with no Panther anywhere near the ball.

Exactly NRL.com has him at 14 missed tackles for the game. too put it in perspective i thought josh reynolds had a bit of a shocker in defense last weekend who missed 8 tackles, marking the big Trex. anyone who manages to miss 14 shouldn't be in the NRL.

Girds...
I think you're being a bit harsh on a couple players.
Aaron Woods was one of the most consistant (If not the most) Domestic Props in the game this year..
Ben Te'o has been in blistering form!!
Gillett, Hannant, Parker and Mateo are hardly laughable either!!

In further news, Creagh, B. Morris, Merrin, B.Scott, Pearce, J.Friend, Farah, Grant & Lewis have withdrawn from Kangaroos train on squad due to injury

aaron woods does consistently nothing. his stats say his a workhorse and he is a bit but with no impact at all. they already have their workhorse in gallen. they need more IMPACT players like T - REX. ones that can turn the game on its head in a matter of seconds.

id say though gillet, coote, idris and wallace are laughable.

My Team (without injuries / finals)

Ben Barba
Brett Morris
Josh Morris
Greg Inglis
Brent Tate
Jonothan Thurston
Cooper Cronk
Matt Scott
Cam Smith
Paul Gallen
Sam Thaiday
Nate Myles
Luke Lewis

Tim Grant
James Tamou
Glenn Stewart
Billy Slater / Justin Hodges

Ha ha...
The same trex that played the last origin?
Gimme woods any day...
A bit of a work horse???
I said domestic prop, not impact!!
I note you've named most of the Aussie team,
Traditionally... That's not what the Pm's 13 is...
It's more about up and comers buddy

Why half a dozen players have pulled out, plus no players playing in the semis (6 teams) are eligible, not sure what other players you want, im happy all Dragon players pulled out a nothing game which can result in serious injury...
