Congrats on the Fulton, Dane
I've actually damaged more cards over the years with the cutting method more than the rip and bust (through my own in-attention), I have seen a lot of the basketball dealers bust in a gentler version of what you do on their videos. I personally found that this years Elite tore really nicely if you got it at the right angle and this was as efficient and safe as any other method. However, I cut the top of nearly anything I bust. I often do them all at once to make busting quicker later on, which would shorten your videos.
I guess it is like a lot of things; you wouldn't thrash your car or leave your gold clubs in the rain etc in front of a potential buyer, but ultimately what you do with your own product is your choice as you own it. I'm a little surprised at the reactions of people on both sides, but for the most part people are super helpful and friendly on here as long as everyone treats each other with respect and doesn't read too much into each others comments.
Welcome aboard, I hope you enjoy collecting as much as I do.
