NRL 2016 ESP Elite Official Thread (Checklist Up Pg 36)

looks like a pretty good release, some descent odds on the higher end stuff and the chance of a 1/1 sounds excellent.

Keen to understand the box card/case card situation, with only 4000 box cards and 400 case cards, the run would only be 4000boxes, which would mean the odds on picking up a second 1/box hit goes up significantly

There's a total of 6,400 boxes. 100 are for promotional purposes, so the 2,300 without box or case cards will probably go to newsagents and the ones with them go to card dealers and online retailers.

There is also a 42.5% chance you will get 2 hits in the same box.

Read under the Gold Special Cards, the 2nd dot point specifically says diff picture used to common card

Mate I couldn't make the font big enough on my phone.... I am going blind in my old age as well but resisting going for glasses.

Yes, there is no parallel set this year (although i'm sure everyone will still call it parallel out of habit). The "Gold Special Set" features different images from the Common cards.

Ok so there is no parallel then.

Are the mojos different images from the base and the Gold Specials?

Cheers
Ross

Jaede, thanks for showing, not a pdf user at the moment.
Did notice, that only 9 cards per pack, and ONLY 24 PACKS PER BOX.
Thats only a hobby box.
24 packs seems a little lackluster but there's also 1 guaranteed serial numbered card and a 42.5% at a second per box. Adding more packs could possibly cut the value you get.
I'm pretty sure last year elite was only 9 cards per pack and 24 packs per box as well.

Wonder if the box/case cards are the only thing the newsagents miss out on or if there are others as well

Wouldn't think so. They won't take any content out of the boxes so it's just the case cards and box cards.

Even then that's not confirmed. Might be completely random who gets case/box cards and who doesn't

Here is an update from TLA on some questions that have been raised:

· The Check List will be released on the 25th of July, about 10 days out from initial deliveries taking place.

· The Sales Flyer lists out where and from who collectors can pre order boxes and albums.

· The Box Cards can be found in 4000 of the 6300 boxes produced, the box card is placed loose on top of the packets, 2 designs limited to 2000 of each design.

· The Case Card are limited to 200 of each design x 2 designs a parallel of box card. We do not send sealed cases to Newsagents, only single boxes are supplied to Newsagents, so case cards will only be found in product supplied to dealers. This has allowed us to Limit the Edition of case cards this year, increasing the collectability.

· Re Factory Collated Master Sets, we have produced 5 FCMS each set has been specially number MS1 to MS5 this means that all the Individually Numbered cards and cards Limited in Edition will have a special foil numbered stamped on them, this also protect the integrity of the released as cards number 1 to 5 can still be found in pack. The FCMS are available for purchase via the ESP Authorised Dealer Network, as at today 4 of the 5 sets have been sold to private collectors. The only card in the release these FCMS do not contain is the 1/1 card of which there can only be 4 in existence.

So are they saying the box card allocation is completely random and the boxes Newsagents receive will have the same chance of holding one as a box from a case destined for a preferred dealer?
I have no problem with ESP supplying newsagents with boxes without a box card as the vast majority will be broken and sold individually but if someone wants to grab a box from a newsagent it would be nice if they knew it had the same chance of holding one as one from any other source.

So the box card CAN be found in newsagent boxes? Won't this limit their numbers available to the public because most newsagents open the boxes and sell loose packs, meaning the cards just sit around out the back and never get seen again?

Just noticed that the common and gold special are a 192 card set. This equates to 12 cards per team. Ruby and sapphire are 144 card sets which equates to 9 cards per team.

Wondering what the extra 3 cards per team in the commons and gold special will be.

Club logo?
Checklist?
Subsets?

Any thoughts?

Going by last year a logo and two players (elite has been where they do add lesser known players into the base set)
or 3 players

Good pick up

Definitely a club logo which may double as a check list. A subset within the common set would be cool, last time I recall that was the Timeless Tributes in 02 Challenge

Maybe the 3 cards are Coach, Checklist and Team Stats?

Or 2 players and a checklist. That probably makes more sense
