New member intros

We seem to be having a lot of new members join up lately that are jumping straight into posting without properly intoducing themselves.

Is this something admin can push even harder with new members as they register??

Maybe an introductory pm with a small list of questions that they can answer as part of there intro eg

History of hobby
Fav team / player
Location
etc

In the email that goes out to them when they register it says to post up an intro and yeah its been annoying lately when you get two lines and no little about the member or even what they collect!

Will look into a standard form of a few Qs that they can cut and paste maybe to post up for all to see when they first post.

Could you work it so that they can't post until they've replied to the email, and when they reply, it creates a welcome thread???

I have no idea how easy or hard the software is to work with, so just throwing an idea out there.

Everyone gets an intro PM which goes something like this :

Dear $username,

Thanks for registering at $vboptions[bbtitle]!

Please take the time, before doing anything else, to introduce yourself to everyone in our New Members Intro forum.
