So I heard a rumour that Stephen Fleming might be re writing the futera cricket book to fix up all the missing pieces has anyone heard any rumors surrounding this ?

Haven’t heard this, could just ask him I guess. A couple of ex Futera staff members still floating around so some good resources there. I’d buy it.

Yes I may have to do some digging on this. Thought I would ask around first on here to see if anyone else had caught word on it. But yes I'd also be very interested in this book. To be honest I think there's alot of futera collectors that would love to see it happen. And totally agree with you on that Luke if there's any 2 blokes that could do it it would be them.

Ha ha - not aware of that going through my head or any plans for one atm! However, I do have a register of them (or what I believe to be close to the definitive record of the cricket issues - modesty prevents me from saying I've got them all!) It is extremely difficult to pin down the cricket issues - the Futera Files (& lots of subsequent documentation) have errors & omissions & the English co. produced a single 1998 issue (featuring Ian Botham) which doesn't get a mention either. I've also heard from a number of collectors/sources that the extra issues i.e. Employee issues, Samples, Sheets etc. were often compromised prior to distribution or have been tampered with since by less scrupulous collectors, dealers & sellers! Examples includes Employee issues with/without Ltd. issue #'s (I'm told only 200 were made and all were unique but I've seen two WCW Employee Sheets with the same Ltd. # on the Gold sticker?), Not all sets appear to have been produced as full SAMPLE issues - anyone seen a SAMPLE Sheet of AR1 - AR4? Worse still, some cards don't appear to have been issued at all, despite others in the series existing - anyone seen a First Day "Acetate" Run Machine of Ponting or Taylor or an XL1 with a Gold foil overlay at the top of the card (I've seen plenty without it?) Love to hear from anyone else who has tried to make sense of their issues or have a large collection of them - I have two shoeboxes full of them covering the four seasons issued, 30 or so sheets, Counter Top displays, promo material, folders, display pieces etc. & still not convinced I have seen everything, let alone collected it!

Haha thanks Stephen for clearing that up it just goes to show you don't always believe what you hear on the internet 😉 Haha. Thanks very much for clearing that up and putting modesty aside if you ever did have time in the future I'm sure all collectors would love to see your version on this futera cricket series as your correct there is alot missing and with it being so difficult to pin down the cricket issues of futera is still leaves alot of questions. I think the Brian Lara card signature card has been a huge subject of late some big collectors on this site believe it is a legitimate card some don't I'm on the fence as it did get messy with futera towards the end. May we ask your thoughts towards this card ? Haha I think we are all still trying to make sense on some of there issues it seems to be the issues that were closest to the end date of futera seem to be where the trouble is surrounding the unknowns.

I do have a set of first day issue actate cards have only recently bought this set in the past week. I believe Steve from card zone still has one set left if you were looking. I know a lot of the first day actate cards were scrapped due to the nature of the scratching to fronts of cards so a lot didn’t make it to packaging and even now if you get a set there’s scratches to face of cards

Yes the 4ups are a nightmare

Combos that can exist

Gold sticker on front with numbering
Gold Sticker on front with employee edition
Gold Sticker on front with sample

Gold stamp on back in centre of Card
Silver stamp on back in centre of card

silver foiled numbers on back of cards
nothing on back of cards

foiled on front of card
no foil on front of card

no idea which of the above were produced for each version

Yes I must admit the 4up cards are a nightmare I'm not sure anyone will be able to make sense of the 4ups I personally haven't bothered with the 4ups for this reason as in the too hard basket but collect both sample and numberd cards that's not to say that set of 4ups wouldnt be a fantastic edition to the set but very messy hard to know what's in a set I have a couple of signed 4ups from mark Waugh and apparently there's signed 4ups also from Sir Donald Bradman so I do find both those very appealing apart from that I've entered 4ups in the to hard pile but if there is a big collector of 4ups and you have an idea would be great to get your opinion

Hello - yes I also have a few each of the FDI Acetate numbered RM's Ponting and Taylor - as part of sets of 6. Also have about 10 of the numbered Acetate RM5 Law's and probably 20 of the RM6 Bevans.

I recently was pretty surprised to find an Acetate FDI 4 card sheet of RM's 3,4,5 and 6 - all numbered 0993 .... had never seen an Acetate sheet after 20 years looking. It has a Special Employee Edition sticker on front.

Just with the Decider XL box cards - XL4,5 and 6 - they all come in Platinum and Gold foil versions.

And I'm up to 24 different versions of the Decider 4 up uncut sheets .... and counting ! they never end ...

All the above cards are from the Decider set which is what I concentrate on.
Cheers
John
