There is a thread on here were people are chasing a particular member for cards that have been paid for months ago and still not delivered. That really sucks and I hope they get them.

This guy has received feedback 42 times. 3 negative and 2 neutral yet plenty of people are still buying off him. What he is doing is exactly what the feedback says he did to others.

So what I an interested to know is how much negative feedback does a person need before you will stop dealing with them?

I agree with Dave, cards sent first before payment but if it is 1 or 2 negative feedback I read what it is the negative feedback was given for before I trade with them

If I have 1 bad experience without a reasonable explanation, I just won't deal with them again. Fortunately I can't remember anything bad happening EVER on OCT.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I Agree cards would have to be sent first.
I think maybe if someone needs a card bad enough they ignore bad feedback.
Glad i,m not one of these people.

Normally feedback like that would set the alarm bells ringing, and on ebay/trademe I would steer clear of that sort of feedback unless I had paypal to fall back on with their guarantee. However in this case I totally didn't think to check the feedback, was one of the first deals I did on here and kicking myself since then.
Pretty much guarantees I'm with Dave from now on. If the feedback gets me wondering they better be prepared to send first before recieving payment!

ive had 2 deals with this particular member, 1st didnt show up, i gave him the benifit of the doubt and blamed Auspost.
2nd time took a few emails and 3 weeks later i got the cards. will never deal with him ever again.
i hope everyone waiting for cards have messaged the mods on their situation.

It's worth noting that in this instance, two of the three negs were left after the seller started the thread ... the other was from December 2011.

Since this thread seems to be implying those who bought the cards off him are a bit thick.

I think there should be a change in the rule book, after three negatives the person should always send the cards first before he gets payed or pay first before getting the cards. This happens to new members before they get their first ten feedbacks,it's a trust issue and the person with the negative feedback should understand this if he wants to deal with other members. In the mean time what David said...
Cheers
Peter

Sone people don't follow the most basic guidelines for trading on here, what do you think having more rules is going to achieve?

The quote is stolen from another thread, but really applies here too. People aren't following the trading guidelines (it's in there that only cards that are in hand should be traded/sold), there is only so much that we can do. Every user needs to put themselves in a position where they are comfortable with not losing out and feel protected if something did go wrong.

Let's look at the example currently (and I am not defending the guy by any stretch, but did anyone take measures to protect themselves) -
1. Sales were made for cards not in hand.
2. On the date the thread was started (Sept 14) he already had 2 negatives
3. People paid using Paypal Gift (Again protect yourselves)

See this thread as well for more info:

I'm just gonna stick to ebay from now on. At least if you get ripped off on there, you don't also get the embarressment of a thread telling you how you did everything wrong.

I didn't mean it to embarass anyone.
The thing is on ebay you should be able to collect the users details from ebay. We do not store any details other than the email address used to sign up, so the ultimate responsibility lies with every user, to protect themselves.

What annoys me, is that we have trading guidelines for people to follow. In almost every single instance where there has been a problem, the guidelines have not been followed.

We can only do so much - at the end of the day it is up to you to protect yourselves. There are guidelines on how to do this on this site under http://www.ozcardtrader.com.au/community/help/terms - if you choose not to follow these guidelines you put yourself at greater risk of having problems.

If these things aren't brought up, how does anyone learn from their mistakes ?
