Yeah online. When I went into the game yesterday it told me I needed to update the game software and download it now. So I did. They release updates to the game to fix issues, glitches and game play at times.

Yeah I hear you Jimbo. Everyone has a different style (as the motto of My Player was pretty much last year wasn't it? ) Mine is to run off screens and get open for shots. Others is to get the ball and create. My style is not effected greatly by this update. Yeah I get the ball a bit less, less shots, but when I do, I get good looks which is why my shooting % is now going up and points hovering/maybe lowering a little. However for creaters and ball needers, the update could very well ruin it for you unfortunately...

got drafted 2nd round, 4th pick to wizards..played as 6th man (SG) (behind arenas/wall) after season finished, moved to hawks, now starting at SG and averaging 36/1/1 lol

this new update is massive BS. im PG so luckily i dont HAVE to run there plays, i can override for pick and rolls or whatever, but when i sometimes play SG im usually left sitting in the corner while johnson or bibby fire off contested threes......and i dont like how it keeps changing the defence, if i wanna play half court trap. it should let me not keep swapping back. and whats up with this- my player looks as though he has baby oil smeared all over his hands. suddenly i cant catch the basketball if its thrown from more then 2 metres away. my teams turnovers have shot thru the roof and im usually getting A+ rating, the first game i played since the update i finished up a C i hope it just takes a bit of getting used to and i can get my stats and rating back up to were it has been otherwise i can kiss that ROY good bye

If you guys don't like the new update you do have the option to delete it like I've done but you'll have to go without live until a new update fixes the problem.

Initially i thought it was crap (the new update) but after playing a few games i think i enjoy MP a bit more. I like having to do set plays and i've found my TO have gone down heaps along with my shooting % going up due to better looks. I think it would be good if you could over ride it whenever you pleased though as sometimes you just want to run amok and tear it up. I've found if you wait till 10seconds left on the shot clock then you are able to do as you please but it'd be better if you had the option to make what ever plays you like when you want.

On another note i got ROY and was told i was selected to one of the All NBA teams (not sure which one though, how do i find out?)
We made the finals and clean swept the 76r's 4-0 in the first round, my averages before the finals were 27pt, 3.2rb, 4.9ast, 0.7steals as a 6'8" SG @ 269pounds.

I dont know my new averages off my head but im pretty sure im owning the rebounds, i've started making it my mission to try grab as many boards as possible with my 30o and 50d rating on rebounds. Might have to add some skill points to each to get some more

this is true but from what ive researched, the only way to do this is by clearing the cache, which will also delete updates for any other games you might be playing as well. im not sure if i wanna do this.

You'll get used to it mate, you may go down slightly in points but i seemed to have got better all round.
Im still getting A+ each game it just seems to take longer to get the ratings up, i used to get to A+ by the 3rd 1/4 now it'll take me till the 4th

Yeah my points have dropped from ~30ppg to ~23ppg, but I find it soooo much easier to get boards, steals and assists. Just got my 1st triple double 25/10/10, and then followed up with 27/13/8...as a 6'3 SG. I'm averaging more like 8 boards, 7 assists and 3 steals since the update, after being 3, 5 and 1 before. LOVE the update. Makes it so much more real and gives a purpose on O rather than running in circles.

Yeah checked my stats and im now 24.8 ppg 10.7 boards and 4.2 assists with 1.9 steals in the finals series, disposed of the 76r's and Magic pretty easily now im 1-1 against the Celts. Ray Allen is killing me though

And then my next game I dropped 33/9/11 and 5 steals against Portland, shooting 73% from the field and 50% from downtown Scoring is starting to rise again as I adjust to not being able to run in circles to get the ball and then do as I please. And yeah, numbers are going up since the plays generally put you in good positions.

so is it up to you to learn the plays

is it simple to pick up?? how do you know which specific plays are called for you, and if the play is not called for you and you got to the hoop is it a bad thing??

Its starting to sound like i should download this patch, anyone got a link for the pc??

To be honest, plays are rarely called for you, and that's even with me being rated 76 overall and the 2nd highest rated player on my team! But you're not punished for breaking the play when you get the ball, and in fact sometimes it helps since the plays can be very regimented. The play is mapped out on the court for you, just like calling a play in Association or Online games. However, if a team mate has the ball and you're ignoring the play and trying to get the ball from him, he won't give it to you more often than not. Though I guess I'm learning the new times when they will cause I've had team mates break plays to give it to me a reasonable amount now.

Wow had a monster game yesterday in the finals against the Spurs. My first triple double and knocked down 6 3's after bumping my 3pt rating up to 76.
Had 38pts 17rb and 11 assists with 2 blocks and 5 steals!

Got my first ring after the Heat destroyed the Spurs 4-0
Got an ankle sprain in the eastern confrence finals against the celts and decided to sit a game as it was annoying me trying to keep up with there fast pace so came back healthy with the series tied up at 3 a piece and took the win. In the last game of the finals against the spurs i played from the first 1/4 with a busted wrist and still pulled off a 36pt effort after not being able to hit a shot for the majority of the game so started driving to the rim and picking up fouls to get my numbers up.
Im now rated 75 with averages in the finals of 29.8ppg 12.6rb 5.6ast

Loving the new set up, i've found the same as you Ben it almost works in your favour when breaking the play once you have the ball as you are already in a better position. My points too started to go up once i've got used to the new way of playing.

Started a new 'My player' yesterday. I am a 6'5 SG. I got drafted by the Hawks at pick 24 in the 1st round. Just finished the summer league and averaged 24ppg 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Might start the season proper tonight. See how I fair

FINALLY got the hang of this new game play. I also changed my jumper from Kobe's to Wade's and it has worked a charm.

Hit 6/6 from 3 and had 36 points in a major bounce back game. Since then I've had at least an A in all of my games and have scored 20+.

Only thing is I went down with injury, missed one game and said I'd play through it (12 days till full recovery) but then got injured in my next game while playing through it, and now playing through it again but says 14 days till I'm at my best.

I'm rated 64 overall but have been brought down to 57 because of the injury.

I would generally not play through it, but I know the All-Star weekend is approaching since we're 17-24 (41 games in) and I don't want to miss out!

Next game I'll have to stick with only jumpers and not move around too much or else I'll probably get hit again.

Nice work Jimbo Did you stop getting A+'s? I don't think I've had a game which I didn't get A+! Not since getting more than 10mins a game anyhow.

So I've played 8 games since I've got the hang of it.

I've got at least an A in each one of them, and probably 6/8 of them have been A+. I only play 8 minute quarters though, so sometimes if it takes me longer than desired to get going it might be hard to squeeze out an A+.

Luckily the game caters to this though and sometimes only requires as an objective to get an A or higher.

One things for sure, I'm definitely becoming a better jump-shooter.

Scored 27 points in the game I just played (5 mins ago) hit 5 three's and only scored I think 4 or 6 points on layups or dunks.

Now 45 games in, waiting in anticipation to see if I made the All-Star Team (Eastern Conference) as it should be announced around here sometime.

I'm averaging 26.4 PPG which is good for 6th in the league and leading the league in FG% at 57.1%. Pretty good for a SG

My Pacers are doing well, but I could see myself jump to another team soon. By my count that would be my (OKC, UTA, POR, IND) 5th team.

I like them and we won 4 games in a row but then I got injured and we dropped 3 in a row. I came back and we've won 2 of 3 including losing narrowly to the Magic who were atop the East and we're only 9th in the East.

I like the team, only reason I might jump ship again is because Danny Granger is out for 8 weeks and so is Tyler Hansbrough so we are seriously depleted and if it doesn't look like we'll make the playoffs I'll want to jump to a playoff team.

fricken bullsh!t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was playing the bobcats, my team COULD NOT make a shot, im on 71 points cos i had to take over in the 2nd, we're down by 5 i hit a 3, miss a layup, block augustine then dunk with 19 seconds left...i thought im not letting the AI beat me by cheating me so i saved it....went to reload it.....NUP!! THE MOTHER FRICKER WONT LOAD....IVE LOST ALLLLLLLLL OF MY PLAYER, 48 GAMES!!!!
