MY FIRST EVER PATCH TYPE CARD !!!!

hey guys,
a small win on the melb cup the other week allowed me to purchase my first ever patch type card today,
and this is my second bogut card, its numbered 92 out of 99!

i was so amazed when the seller put it in the case its in..
another shot shows how thick it is (its around half inch thick i think)

and to think that he only charged me like $4usd for global priority and the case...

anyway,
after looking at the patch and seeing the draft photo below

the patch looks like it came from the 'ILW' part of milwaukee on the front of the ball???
hah oh well, im very happy with this card and having a 'patch' type card is a first for my collection..

A ball used in a photo shoot. Another piece of useless 'gu' crap from the card companies. The auto makes it better though but still. :o
 
your a real pessimistic asshole chadjaja,
i personally think your vintage stuff is shit but i would never normally say that to you..an old 1950's kellogs card i wouldnt even wipe my ass with, yet its your pride and joy..

learn a lesson from the other members here and try to be kind and if you dont like something just keep it to yourself..

also, its not from those rookie photoshoots they have, this is the real ball that he holds the NIGHT he was drafted..
i personally think its a great card and if shaq had a rookie card like this thousands of people would be all over it today (including me)..
 
Mate firstly back off! I was simply commenting on the use of the ball in the card. Minus that its a great card to see. You will see I reguarly comment of everyones mail etc and appreciate it. I don't just collect vintage you know and have amassed a fair collection that I'm sure you are not aware of but that not my focus right now.

Get your facts straight mate before blowing your horn. While you may not understand the hobby enough to appreciate the Mikan etc your statement reaks of ignorance. Your Goorjian comment said it all.

It wasn't a personal dig at you just the use of the ball but you made it into one though.

Its a hobby that has lots of various players, teams and genres to collect. Its not a love fest. We are allowed to disagree from time to time.

everyone is entitled to have ther own opinion, but when u call something 'crap' when its my fav card im not going to be over the moon about it..

if i said something like that about your mikans you wouldnt be too happy either..

re goorjian, he may be a good coach, but he told me to get off the court when i was ther first :lol: my claim to fame maybe?

Have a go next time when I post a Mikan. I'd rather an opinon than biting tongues.

And the Mikan is so important coz he didn't have any other cards except his Bowman. Therefore his bread for energy, exhibits, wheaties etc are the only chance for collectors to get his cardboard. Its not like today where a card in a wheaties box is a poor cousin to the real thing out of a pack. You can't compare the two periods of the hobby.

Just telling you in case you are unaware of the reasons behind some of the vintage trends and prices etc.
 
Moving on. Geelongfan, Awesome card you got there. Love how the patch, 3 colours and its very distinguished as when I first look at it, I immediately thought of the"L" from Milwaukee. Nice Card and I would see why it is your favourite. 8)

I love the card too but just not the ball thats all. But each to his own like you said. Its still no crap card by any means just a crap idea. Thats what I meant. Still if you are going to get a ball card then that is the best example of one you could get and I can see why you are excited about it.

I'll just ignore the earlier comments about my crap.
