I can't understand this. You're still pursing PayPal to action what? The seller has offered you to return it for a full refund, which is probably what PayPal are going to demand.

I'm almost 100% certain that PayPal would not give you a $160 refund (can't understand how you can ask for it, perhaps a $50 refund maybe????).

The guy's a douche, and doesnt deserve any more publicity, his threats of legal advise are just plain stupid.

Close the case, and move on Rhys....

So if you got a PC card that you knew you couldnt get ever again, and it was damaged due to a dodgy seller, no other reason, you wouldnt want some sort of compo and too keep the card? gimme a break...

Having said that, I know how paypal work and they will probably say that Rhys has to send it back to get anything, which he won't do, but wouldnt you want to try?? Thats all Rhys is doing and good on him, I'd do the same. Even though I know its highly unlikly Id get anything!

Paypal will take about 2-3 months to finalise it all! They take a long time.

Well really! I couldn't care less how long it takes!!!

Why move on? He did the wrong thing and needs to learn over it!

I know exactly what paypal are going to say, but I'm still gonna give it a try!!!

Exactly right! I'm in the situation so I'm just gonna let it go on however long it takes!

The guy needs to be taught a lesson on how to care for HIGH VALUE cards!

i havent seen every post in this thread but i did watch the video. i used to work for australia post and to be quite honest, to think that all parcels , envelopes, packages whatever dont get abused is a little naive. having worked there, it isnt ever intentional mistreatment of parcels, but i am saying that like any job, nearing hometime, sometimes the care factor decreases couple that with christmas time volumes of mail and sometimes a parcel just gets hamerd. its like u have kings and some has aces. nothing u can do

ur envelope also didnt have a passed customs green tape on it which means that customs did not officially peek inside. nor did it have a passed quarantine yellow sticker on it so quarantine did not officialy look inside either. thats if u bought from overseas. if domestic then no customs.

so many variables at work. and i have seen first hand the most dumbest **** sh.it get sent via mail in the most dumbest way. this to me looks like just bad packagng due to the possible smallness of the card.

Well guys! Just an update on this!

Got the following email from paypal this morning....

Dear Rhys Solomon,

How is this fair? I send the card back and this is what happens...

I might not get a full refund? This is a joke!

The seller sends me the card wrongly in the first place to make it get
damaged and he gets to receive the card back and possibly keep some of
the money? That's ridiculous!

I am not going to send the item back, as it's the only one in the world
and will never find another one!

All I wanted was a little compensation for a badly packaged item that
wasn't cheap!

This is a joke!

Reading those 2 letters just made me ANGRY and it is not even my issue so I could only imagine how it made you feel !?

Very sad indeed..... yet nearly everyone here will still buy from ebay.com and they wont protect us at all !
Bugger em, why dont collectors here stop sending to the states for a while and see if they like missing out on some sweet cards that get busted here is oz....

Where is the JUSTICE.... next time you think it is suspicious you should go back into the post office and Film it in front of the Shop assistant for extra proof !

I had that occur once, and I chose to not send via a trackable method and marked that down on PayPal, and had my refund within 12 hours of marking this, even though I hadn't been able to send the item yet! I sent anyway because that's the principle, but it was really weird!
