Member Locations

I notice that there are quite a few members who don't put in their location. Now please forgive me if this sounds petty, but I like to know where people are from

For me it makes them seem more genuine if they are not 'scared' to put their location up for all to see, like they are not trying to hide so much.

Anyway, is this something others have an issue with?

I guess what I am suggesting is making it a mandatory field, is this something that would be seen as a positive for the site?

Yeah would like to see it as mandatory as well.
Especially with international members, just so we know postage prices & delivery times are going to be higher/longer.

maybe country should be mandatory tho? or at least an indication youre international (for postage purposes).

I think it's a great idea to make it mandatory. You aren't putting your entire address, just the suburb or city so privacy is NOT an issue

Why would you want to hide your Country/ State/ City? it's not like you are putting your address there for everyone to see! I personally have no issue with this as I have nothing to hide, not here to rip anyone off.

i do have my state listed, because i dont really care. but if you dont want to it should be your choice...

Haha yes I know that, like you say your state is listed here and I was not suggesting that you were, hope no offense was taken, I just PERSONALLY think it is good to be able to see where a member is based.

I think state at least, gives people an idea. Card collecting hobby is small as it is so most people know most others in their state etc.

I am actually proud to advertise my location. I currently live in Earlwood NSW which is about 10 minutes drive from Belmore NSW (where I was born) the home of the Canterbury Bulldogs. My life long passion and the sole reason I collect footy cards. I'll shout it from my roof top if ya want.

The option is there for people to write whatever they want. If we made it a required field, people would just put a dot or rubbish.
