Make up ya mind will ya !!!

Just try and busting a few packs and see if you see a card you really like and start collecting that set, and then just go from there.

Ive noticed a few people stepping out of the hobby recently and maybe its because they're in the same boat.
Although sometimes i find it difficult, the key for me to staying interested is to remember that it's just a hobby.
The problem with collecting players/sets is that half of the time you might not even like a particular card of
that player. You just feel like u have to have it because hes in it. Or when putting together sets, u might only like
5 of the players in the set. Since Ive rejoined the hobby ive only bought/traded cards of players I like on cards I like.
Even tho I have a side pc of D-Rose, I'm very selective of what I add to it.

I reckon Magic Johnson would be a great player to collect....lots of cheap jerseys/patches and a lot of his autos dont cost that much. Was a great player and the face of showtime!

Well i have just jumped into NBA cards. Maybe instead of a player you jump into a set that takes your fancy. I started with 1986 Fleer and its fun to try to put a set together that is as mint as possible. Has not cost me heaps (apart from the Jordan rookie) and its a very historic set from the perspective of NBA cards. Just my 2 cents.

Very close there richo...but im looking for something more.
I love the buying/selling and even some trading.
Ill play it by ear atm.....see what pans out
Like many said..as long as its fun

I just gone through the same things as you mate. Been collecting JR Smith for over 5 years and started to get bored, took a break and came back! I decided to revamp my non JR pc, pick up some nice high end, shiny's and new stuff! Got me intrerested again! Had to move some big cards, but brought in some rippers!

Thanks norm...im not going anywhere...
The passion is still strong and having a ball in the hobby.
I just think i can get more out of it.....some good suggestions by some of the lads.

Just stick with what you know :)
If you are not keeping up with the current players then just keep picking up stuff of the players that got you into collecting. Its not about how many cards you have but what you enjoy about them.
I am a bit of a sucker for nice patches. Have always paid a bit much for some of the one's I have but I just have always liked the idea of patches in cards since getting back into the hobby via ebay
Perhaps you will get time in the future to watch some current games and once you see some highlights you might decide on a new PC player or 2 ;)
until then, may the MOJO be with you on your next bust :)

I agree with Terry, Patches are crazy and i like them. The reason i went from a player to collecting patches, its just to bloody hard
to collect each and every card of one player. Especially when Panini do the old screw job and make 65 different variations or the same card.

Patches = make me happy
Busting boxes = make me happy

thats why these 2 things are the only 2 that i focus on now.

Most important thing, find something that makes you happy and stick within your budget
