The AFL Draft is tomorrow.... night I think... So Where will Luke Ball end up??

Wants to go to Collingwood but they don''t get a pick till #30
Melbourne have a heap of picks... IFthey pick him most likely #18
Essendon seem interested with pick #26 if anything
Brisbane maybe pick #27
There's also a chance somone else will pick him up....

Also just a side note... #1.... Scully or Trengove?

I think Collingwood & Scully....

Yeah very interesting the Ball scenario.

Personally I believe Melbourne/Scully as Melbourne are in need of an 'experienced AFL player'

Will be interesting to see how Select do AFL picks next year... if they say do top 22 (like 06 Supreme) then Ball could feature?

The Scully/Trengove situation 'doesn't matter' in terms of teams as Melbourne has both pick #1 #2... Its more bragging rights and for our cards next year... Interesting that its been Scully for te whole year and then Tengove pops us in the last month....

Who knows in terms of cards.... They tend to be pretty stuck in there ways... 16 sigantures....

Would like him to be a magpie by the end of tomorrow but i think someone else will pick him up before Collingwood gets a chance.
Most likely Melbourne.

Even Port Adelaide are having a look at him! But I think he'll become a Magpie. Is any club really going to take a chance with him if he wants to play for Collingwood? The player normaly ends up going where he wants some way or another!

POrt look a good chance!!
I think thier the only team willing to play a top 16 pick for him seeing as they have 3 inside the top 16!
Would LOVE to see him in the teal!

There is almost no point discussing it, he is practically a signed, sealed and delievered Magpie.

IMO, $500k is absolutely RIDICULOUS money for Luke Ball. He can't kick more than 45m and I know St Kilda were great this year but he was on the fringe of their best 22.

Good luck to anyone that wants to pay him that type of coin, they can have him!

I think Scully will go #1, not that it matters much, and that we will pick up Ball with pick #18.
Having said that, the way Ball and his manager Paul Connors have gone about their activities post-trade period has been nothing short of disgraceful, refusing to meet and talk with clubs is prejudicial to the drafting process, once you're in the draft pool you're fair game! So if Melbourne took him it would leave a bittersweet taste in my mouth.

Surely Select would do cards for both the #1 and #2 draft picks wouldnt they? Im sure in past years (Saints with Roo and Kosi, Hawks with Buddy, Roughie and Lewis) they've put more than 1 draft sig per club if they had multiple Top 16 picks. In fact that would mean the Demons would have 3 DPS cards (1,2&11) and Port would also have 2 (8&9). Looks like I'll need to shell out a bit more cash in next years series!

Select will definately have draft pick signatures for the top 16... No matter wht the team... No Collingwood and heaps of Melb & Port.... Not good $$ wise for card sellers...

I am still astonished at the price Ball has put on his head...500k for a fringe player. It is a disgrace.

Its a lot of money, but Ball's no fringe player... Lyon had a grudge against him.. not sure what it was, but he should have been in that team a lot earlier than he was... and the Grand Final... 24 or so touches in half the game?? Had he played longer he would have been close to winning the Norm Smith... He's not about long kicking, he's a hard in and under player...

You've gotta remember this contract is front-loaded. For the first two years its 500K, and for the third year its virtually a rookie salary so the initial 2 years are misleading somewhat.

Its a very interesting topic the Luke Ball situation. I am a Collingwood supporter, and I also think he will end up at Collingwood. Melbourne say they are interested, but they will not be using pick 11 or 18 on a 25 year old who has not even spoken to them. He doesn't want to go to any other club except Collingwood.
Considering Mathew Knights vitually kicked Mathew Lloyd and Scott Lucas into retirement, which was a discrace in my view, how many games would Luke Ball get if he ended up at Essendon? How many years would he get is a better question.
As for Brisbane, Michael Voss is only kidding himself if he thinks that list can win a premiership, even with Fevola. Their midfield is ageing and mediocre at best.
Geelong, St. Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Adelaide and even Essenon have far better midfields than Brisbane. The players they picked up ( Staker, Buchannan, Raines, Clarke) were traded to them for a reason: they are no good!
If Ball goes to another club, they can pay him $500,000 for one season and then he will leave anyway lol. One way or another, he WILL end up at Collingwood lol.

i think ball will go to melbourne and trengrove will be #1 pick.
i think that they will take trengrove at #1 so that it takes some presure of scully, coz he has been the likely #1 pick all year, which is the same situation as jack watts, and he had alot of hype and presure around him and then he hardly did anything in his first year, some people now dont think much of him (i still think he will be very good).

just my opinion :)

Even so, he is not in the top 100 players in the AFL.

hey, i dont really like ball that much either, but he would have to be in the top 100 players!

i so.....hope that Collingwood get him.and i was hoping pies would get Dustin Martin because he is from Bendigo =) but they got rid of their first pick for Jolz
