Left Field: Opinion needed on baby name!

I see nothing wrong with naming kids after people you look upto/respect. I know what i'll be naming my first two kids (once i find the right woman) - Liam Francis after both my grandfathers (William and Francis) and Rosa June after my grandmothers.

Huge congrats Darren!

Just checking... are you sure it is a boy?

During one of my wife's pregnancies, the doc changed their mind 3 times and still got it wrong? hahaha.

I think the only downfall with the names is the team you support! Otherwise, I do like Franklin. Not Lance so much, and deffo not Buddy! Unless you decide to change his surname to 'Love'.

Also, I think you should tweet Buddy and tell him you will name the kid after him as long as he looks after my dream team for the remainder of the season! ;)

No not sure it is a boy, we dont know what it is. (a baby hopefully).

Don't forget Franklin was also the name of a US president.....Franklin D Roosevelt.
Or you could go Franklyn, like one of my favourite comedians Franklyn Ajaye!

Either way...I like it.....and good luck with everything...enjoy it!!!

Thats right, Franklin is a presidential name, also Benjamin Franklin.

I love it :hearts:

Though, I could be a bit biased as despite being a Kangaroos supporter, Buddy is my all-time fave player already (get ur head outta yer a$$ please Lance). Without the bias, I still reckon it's a sweet name, the full Franklin Matthews sounds good, and Franklin can be shortened to Frank, Frankie, Franko, F-Train, or F-Diddy by his mates during his childhood/teens, which is important I think. Can't think of any bad acronyms that are commonly known as FW, so you avoid that pitfall too. A solid choice.

Congratulations to you both, there's nothing wrong with being named after a footballer, my parents gave me the Leigh Matthews tag during the peak of his career with Leigh Matthew Mason.:)

Some say it's bogan but It has to be better then some of the modern names getting around now, I've heard some rippers over the years and I thought the parents were joking when they told me, talk about awkward moments.

Congrats to u both, me and my partner was having the same problem with my sons name! She is a huge fan of Westlife (a irish pop band in the 90's) and she wanted to call him Kian because of one of the guys in the band, after much arguing and I'm telling u arguing the name just stuck! The day he was born we both looked at him and said he is a Kian! Hope that helps lol :-)

we just found out we have girl #3 on the way in 3 months.
My first two are named
Maryanne &
Annemarie

both are old fashioned names, but if reversed are similar, But the main reason we went that way is now if i need to yell at them i just call out MARYANNEMARIE and am saving one word every time i call out to them, that is a lot of breaths i can save every day yelling at them..
and the proposed name for #3 is Rosemary.
so we will be left with ROSEMARYANNEMARIE
and already have plans if we have another girl it will dd on to either end.. ie somethingROSE or MARIEsomething
sad i know but it keeps me amused :)
