Scott also made it clear that this isn’t a permanent benching for Lin, via Winters:
Lin has struggled to adapt to his new surroundings in Los Angeles this season after two disappointing years with the Houston Rockets. Clarkson on the other hand made the best of his opportunity on Friday scoring 11 points and dishing out a career-high four assists.
On Sunday, the Lakers will face off against Lin’s former team in the Rockets. It remains uncertain whether or not Lin will continue to sit behind Clarkson and Price, but all signs point to that possibly being the case.
Scott also made a few other changes to the starting lineup with Ryan Kelly and Robert Sacre replacing Wesley Johnson and Ed Davis.
Welp.........looks like this is permanent then
They say you're no way getting traded, BOOM, traded haha
To be honest, not sure he would've made any difference to the outcome of the game. As a Laker fan I couldn't care less if he played or not, was never a fan of his coming into the. Would rather see them develop Clarkson.

But don't you think there is a great deal of media bias that they would say the following:
1. Two disappointing seasons in Houston when he put up decent numbers and even had a triple double off the bench
2. Clarkson played well with 11 points and 4 assists when Jeremy Lin does that every game with limited minutes
Now to his coach:
1. Whenever he played well, Scott never would acknowledge that
2. When the team did not play well, Scott would always mention Jeremy's struggle first, like he is the main problem
I am just talking facts here, it is not about him being a superstar or whatever, but I think his racial background made him a target for the media and lots of trolls.
Not going into the racial side of things, If talking facts as you said, never heard his nationality mentioned once, so not sure how you came to that conclusion.
Agree here with norm.
Lin is a huge liability defensively, and his offense is patchy at best. If you go through the 14/15 season thread I posted an in depth analysis of my opinion on why this season has been so disappointing for him. His shooting / heat map is at an all time low and 1 out of every 4 shots he takes inside the restricted area get blocked. Regardless of who you are, that's not a good stat to have - and shouldn't need to explain further how getting blocked that frequently hurts others around him.
I think he's a problem. LA has many, many problems so this just another on a long list.
I do believe he could be a very effective backup point guard however but he's not a starter.
The LA media always wants a story and always wants to cast someone as their scapegoat for the problems. It was Pau Gasol, then Bynum before that and Odom before that. If you want to go back further it was Smush Parker. Rightly or wrongly (could make a case for Smush and Bynum however Pau was a bit harsh) I think the finger is pointed at Lin this year the Lakers aren't winning so they need to talk about something.
I think he is good enough to be a marginal starter depending on the system the coach designs. But so far, it has been shown that most of the coaches prefer a different system to the one that Lin perfers.
By the sounds of things it's a combination of the Coach and players. Nick Young is also having playing time issues under Scott after playing just 8mins vs HOU, when you think he'd have started!!!
Coach Scott was quoted that Nick Young "didnt look like he wanted to be there".
You know something's up when you read that!
