Get ready for more "Lost."

The producers of ABC's hit drama have shot so much crucial material for the show's hugely anticipated finale that the network has agreed to extend the last episode by an extra half hour.

When the "Lost" finale airs on Sunday, May 23rd, the episode will run from 9 to 11:30 p.m. The overrun will air instead of the local news, with the "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost" post-finale special remaining at 11:30 p.m. ABC is expected to announce the plan on tonight's episode of Kimmel.

Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof just completed post-production on the finale" -- on Monday night. Both sent out identical Tweets: "We're done. Amen."

The supersizing of the finale is the latest adjustment to what might as well be called "The 'Lost' Weekend." ABC is airing an "enhanced" (pop-ups) version of the show's original two-hour pilot on May 22. On Sunday there's a two-hour retrospective titled "Lost: The Final Journey," followed by the finale and Kimmel post-show

Next Week Is Unlike Anything You've Seen on Lost Before. Swear. And though we've all been told that none of the series regulars appear, that is actually not true. Spoiler Alert: You will see three of the main leads in a very surprising throwback moment that lets you know that the producers totally knew what they were doing as of season one. (Boo-ya!) Allison Janney guest stars, along with two other actors you know, and a few others you don't. You'll learn much much more about the history of the island and the evil, and light, within. Pay close attention to every line Allison's character says and every line (or lack thereof) on her face. Oh, and DVR it. 'Cause you'll need to watch it twice.

TV Tonight can now reveal the finale details for Lost in Australia.

The final 2.5 hr episode will air 8:30 -11:00pm on Wednesday May 26th on Seven. It will also air in high definition on 7HD simultaneously.

It will be repeated later on 7TWO at 11pm.

Airing the final episode on Seven in primetime is a significant move by the network given it now has a cult audience.

In the US where it still enjoys broader appeal advertisements are being sold at a premium rate. It has also been elevated to a Sunday night finale by ABC on May 23rd which has created programming challenges for Seven having just caught up this week with an episode just hours off the satellite. That is believed to have required frantic behind-the-scenes organising with ABC just to deliver it on time.
A two hour catch-up special Lost: The Final Journey will air on Tuesday 25th May on 7TWO at 9:30pm and repeated at 12 midday Wednesday May 26 on Seven.

****! This thread being bumped up has made me realize that I've missed heaps. I saw no ads or anything. I'm pissed off. When did it start and how many episodes have I missed?

Season started in February, episode 14 airs this week in states (and on 7 @ 11:30 now that they have caught up)

PM if you want some details how to catchup
