When desmond mentioned to the doc that there was alot of blood i started to think about the problem with women having children on the island.

Jacob's something i want to see more off,all the lil interesting things.
-The shack he lives in that horace built
-His hate for new technology just like Elsa's boss in "The Economist" (who wore the same bracelet as naomi who was recruited by Abaddon)

I think Penny will die at some stage, will bring about desmond going back to the island and going after Widmore or Ben if he kills her like he said he was going to. He might uncover the plot for the game theyve being playing with all the "rules" (similar to what candle mentioned in Ep 1 this season)

Smokey is one of the things i hope we learn more about, along with the 4 toed statue, richards beauty i mean age tips , who Adam & Eve are, what was the incident.

dunno if its smokey turning into people, Could be one of the islands tricks like the Whispers, Island not letting people hurt themselves until it will let them etc etc

walt could also make things happen, the rain stopping when he wanted michael to find his dog, the bird hitting the window (window of room 23 in the mobisode ), the knife throwing, whipping hurleys arse in backgammon)

3 smokeys is possible, On the blast map thingy it made not of a Cerberus system, with cerberus being a 3 headed dog in mytholgy

i wonder if the dust/ash is from the volcano on the island that carlton & damon have mentioned in interviews

id say Ben has people everywhere on the mainland in all sorts of high places

Alot of what you're talking about goes over my head to the point of where I gotta look it up. Both you guys know your Lost.

Who's Horace? Something I've missed or forgotten...

Main reason I thought Smokey was appearing as Walt was since the episode with Mr Ecko and his brother. Walt kind of has the same weird way about him when he's appeared.

Top 5 on my list of What The? Are (No particualr order);

*John Locke's Death/Life and Importance - Will find out eventually.
*The partial Statue - I definitely want to see more of that.
*Jacob - One of the weirdest consepts they brought in.
*What is 'The Black Smoke'? - I guess we'll find that out eventually too.
*Richard's story - This guy has always been a bit of a mystery.

I could extend that heaps, probably the 'time wheel' would be in there, as would Hurley's 'I see dead people' deal, I mean he's never really been crazy if he does see dead people and they're making contact with him, as insane as that sounds! Daniel's research is also a big one, as is his relationship with Whitmore, what happened to that lady he messed up. It's starting to be explained/expanded. Whitmore and Daniel in the same place and time now is interesting to say the least. The numbers - where did they come from and are they a curse?

Great thing about this show is it throws all kinds of weird concepts at you but it answers them all the same and eventually ties it back into the story well, usually with a good explanation but maing you hang all the same.

Is it possible to edit the title of the thread with '(Spoilers)' in the thread title? I'd hate to ruin this show for anyone... :v:

Gee whiz, I still say Penny better not die, because, I'm going to be so upset, and I could even go as far as to say, I would hate LOST!
But as I sit here tonight, i'm starting to think that she doesn't for some reason. Her son, Charlie "how touching" grows quite big in the flash forward, and she is all o.k at that point. Though, I'm still not happy with Desmond going back, I just hope he doesn'tget caught in the skip of time and end up pushing that button again and the show ends by him saying "I'm sorry Pen".

On the 3 smokeys, I did not know that!
I mearly said that, as there was 1 cut scene, where it hit the sonic fence, and there was clearly 3 of them, that came from all sides. Plus, it makes a mechanical sound!
By memory, didn't rouso say that it's "The Islands security system"????

And something that just hit me late at night here.... there si something about "North" on the island. Because, when Richard gave the compass to Locke, and he asked what does it do. Richard replied "It's a compass John, it points North.
Now, Eko's jesus stick also had a significance of north on it as well. Especially when he found the plane and tracked Jack down.

The 4 toed statue is still something that puzzles me, maybe the island is much older than what we think?
Speaking of old, Richard!!!!
But not just his age, he clearly knows how to get on anf off the island. He recruited Juilet, and clearly can change the future, which the lady fortune teller said you couldn't!!!! he ran Juliets boss over with a bus, knew where Locke would be when he jumps time. I don't like the fact, he knows so much, and has so much power YET!!!! he is not the main man, Ben is????? Why?????

The numbers must the the constant that helps people slip from one time zone, to another. Which is why Hurleys mental friend mad it back, but he still had the numbers rattling in his head.
Speaking of Head, I think Charlotte is in big trouble. She seems to be stuck on 2 time zones. Daniel is trying hard to no say that he can not fix this alone, and Desmond needs to be her constant to be alive??? I don't know, I don't know.

I only wish, Desmond had another key that he could turn, to fix this mess.

I dont think he will get caught in the skip of time, like daniel said he is unique and special and is the only one who can help them. That nice blast after the hatch got blown up has done something to him, able to see the future etc.

yeah and the sound it makes when its scanning people and flying around sounds like a cab ticket machine you hear in an episode and also the calculator john is using in the episode Walkabout i think

I dont think she is having the same problem desmond, minkowksi and faradays lady had as she is not going blank for periods of time then coming back to reality thinking she is somewhere else.

i reckon the numbers will be something we will never find the answer to, carlton and damon have said some things are best left unanswered....prob cant answer it

Isn't that because Desmond has a very strong constant, in Penny? If you have one, you are non affected by the jump of time, that was the prupose of the numbers, as they were universal? That's the way I understood it in my mind.

the constant had to be important and it had to be something familiar to the person in the times they were skipping between. its strength i spose would be in it being something available to the person at all those times

charlotte thinking daniel told her not to return to the island or she would die was interesting, it might lead to daniel having to do it again (a bit like groundhog day) to make things right, all leads back to the course correction, the numbers and the valenzi equation (spelling ) etc

and there has always been the question though, are some people that die really dead

wonder what desmond is going to say to mrs hawkings

turning into an interesting season, my mum is going to be full of questions when she catches up on channel 7

Agree, Before she said what she did, I thought it appeared like her mind was going back in time, with memories from elsewhere, before she said what she did.
And when she said it, I was like "Wooohhhh, she has been here before, and knows about the well? What well?"

When Jin jumped back in time, the message from the tower was notthe same!!! Rosua must have chnaged it?
It was the numbers??? Did you catch that???

And also, the "security" system didn't kill her friends, she did!!!!

I always thought if it were true, if they really were dead. As lets face it, how could that many people survive a crash.
Which would explain I guess, why Hurley see's his friend in the mental hospital and he doesn't exist.
But why would Charlie be off the island? And Anna Lucia???

i dont think she lied, i think she mentions killing them in season 1 somewhere to sayid, she just mentions a sickness but i dont think she says the sickness kills them.

Well, like I said, I only recalled as I have that clip on my collection site, as it was one of the best moments in Season 1 that got me hooked and asking "WTF?"

It would be great to see how all that happened, the recording, the Dynamite etc etc
How Ben took her daughter etc etc

Yeah I picked up on that one, pretty sure he's never been in it but he's the type of actor that was born to have a role in Lost. Been in a few French films I've seen and in one of my favs; Three Kings. Has some great scenes in that. I got a feeling he was along for the ride to bust Sayid out. Could be working with him perhaps? It almost looked like an accident for Sayid to be there, he looked pretty suprised when he seen everyone. I doubt that's the last we'll see of the mystery passenger, not the kind of guy you bring in for one line with 8 words.

Kate on the Junk? I never would have thought that and got a feeling you're joking in a sense but that might not be far from the truth, she was acting pretty weird in this one. The Lawnmower man returns, I thought that was good. Also Jin is back! One of my favorite characters, I knew he was back from the last episode but in a Dharma uniform? The old Lost curveball.

Those questions are pretty much the importance of this episode. Where is Aaron? We'll find out eventually I guess but in the meantime it looks like Kate has done something she's regretting. What happened to Ben and who did it? Desmand perhaps? He was a man on a mission in that episode. Can't believe no one on the plane bothered to ask, then again I probably wouldn't care if I was in their shoes either. Did the plane crash? From what it looked like they went through the time travel thing that's been happening but I don't think we'll know for sure for at least another episode. If the plane has crashed, when has it? Jin looks like the same Jin but he's been skipping in time aswell, and the van looks brand spanking new. If i had to guess I'd say it's around Bens fathers era but you just can't be certain with this show.

My main questions right now are; Where is John and will he be alive again. I've been convinced that he'll be alive when they get back to the island. He's paralised when they get there the first time and all of a sudden he's walking. It's possible he's alive again. Also, what's with the note? 'I wish you had believed me Jack'. Answers probably been right there in front of me but I got no idea/can't remember, what's he talking about in specific?

One other thing that comes to mind is in episode 5 (I think), when Sawyer sees Kate with Claire, it's obvious that confrontations between the same people skipping in time could happen with the same people in the past. Will they (The writers) run with this and eventually start making the characters bump into past selves with present selves? Ultimitely they could change the past and the future if they do and people that were dead might not be all of a sudden in theory. That could get very interesting. I can just imagine Sawyer and Sawyer coming up with better nicknames for people over a few dharma coldies.

Great episode, one of the ones you don't want to end. Can't wait for next weeks. We're nearing the second act of the series so to speak.

Just a question. The stuff you guys have been talking about for the last 2-3 pages is from episodes watched on the net, right? Because I missed the season opener (great advertising, channel 7!!!) but caught the second weeks, and reading this I'm thinking: "Damn! A HELL of a lot happened in the opener!" lol! But now I'm pretty sure you guys are following the US scheduling, huh... BTW, speaking of scheduling: how crap ARE channel 7??? It went from 8:30 Thursday with a HUGE audience, to 9:30 with still a loyal following, but quite a few miffed Lost fans, and now it's Wednesday at 10:30??? BOOOOO!!!

BTW, am I correct in assuming the season opener was a double-header? If so, I'll definately have to watch it online. Coz missing 1 episode can leave enough holes. Miss 2, and you're up the proverbial creek without a paddle...
