It is now two weeks later and the loser buyer has filed a claim and escalated it straight to dispute.
I get three options to answer
1 I can prove I have shipped the item. Um no as he only paid for standard economy shipping from outside the US
2 I can prove I have refunded the payment..hell I can not because I haven't
3 I have not ship and the payment can be refunded...My parents taught me not to lie and be deceitful, obviously something the buyers parents never did
None of these options are any good so why bother replying. The only problem is, no reply and they rule in favour of the buyer. I know I am stuffed anyway, but I can not even refund the monies to just get rid of this idiot because my account is frozen.
They need a fourth option
The buyer is a douche bag.... Especially when the ebay item clearly states delivery will take between 21-30 days. A claim should not allowed to be filed until this time frame has expired, it still leaves the buyer time to lodge a claim if they haven't got the card by then.
Oh and the really annoying part, they have frozen all of my funds. I do not mind them freezing the portion that is in dispute but all of the funds is a bit rich.
Matt (GF4L), if you are reading this (and I know you will) , pm me the details of who you spoke with at the Ombudsman. I just may take this further as I do not believe they should have the right to freeze all of the funds.
Wow that's sucky man. No way should they have the right to freeze all of the funds. Also sick of buyers who expect things the next day after you post it!
That sucks. So now your funds are frozen, potentially you cant buy anything more and worse you cant honour existing purchases which just stuffs up other people. Ebay relies too much on trust/honesty. Their is no way around this and the world aint what it used to be. But people wouldnt buy cheap items if registered post becames mandatory.
That sucks Garth - hope KGF4L can help you out. I guess even if you videotaped yourself sending it they'd dispute receiving the card they actually paid for....
I wait 30 days and contact the seller if something hasn't arrived. If no reply I will escalate to Paypal and give em a week to reply if no reply I move to a claim.
This jackass has just spat the dummy and had a cry. Nothing arrives in 2 weeks, sheesh it takes about 4-5 days to get something from inter state let alone O/S.
My SPx Pro Motion auto hasn't arrived from the US and I bought it 6 days ago, better stop stuffing around here go and lodge a claim
Seriously, go option 1. With all US postage you have to sign that dangerous goods declaration so that at least shows the losers name and address and what you sent, also explain they have not contacted you prior to filing and they have not allowed sufficient time for the item to arrive.
Sorry to hear Garth,, it is increasingly difficult to sell overseas from Australia without slugging people $50 for EMS shipping. Huge problem when a buyer elects to go economy shipping knowing there is no way to prove you sent the item.
Sounds like you have no option but touch your toes and bite down on your pillow really hard...
ebay and paypal (same company) suck big basketballs. I'm not sure if you have the option in Oz, but if I ever sell on ebay and they don't want to pay for EMS then only other option I'd give them is insured. Costs about $14US and can't prove delivery, but then if they file a claim you'd have the parcel insured and in theory get that value (that you'd have to prove) back. I've never had something I sent not arrive, but it's a bit ridiculous that they freeze your whole account. In fact I'd think that would be illegal...
Well Garth! Welcome to the club! I joined 2 months ago and I sold this to this guy from France: 1994 Upper Deck USA Gold Medal ERROR NNO Dan Majerle | eBay
It was only 9 days and I got that same dispute and escalation and hold on my paypal account too. I actually went in to paypal and found a way to send a picture of the STAMPED BY THE POST OFFICE WITH THE SHIPPING DATE customs form with the customs number that you can look up at USPS.com to prove that it left my post office in Colorado and went to customs in Los Angeles. I sent this with the proof of shipment section of the claim and they still won the dispute!! Can you believe that. I Called paypal imediately and they said that I did not have delivery confirmation. I told them that I would have to send it registered mail which would cost over 10$ to do that in a bubble parcel envelope and that was not what they paid for. I also have proof of shipment. They told me that since they have no proof that they ever received it that they had to rule in their favor. I was shocked!!! I told them that it went to FRANCE and to give it a friggen' chance!! They told me off and that there was nothing I could do.
Guess what happend the next day?? I get this feedback from the buyer (NOTE: this guy never responded to the dispute messages I sent and the ebay messages I sent, just filed a claim and won)

1994 Upper Deck USA Gold Medal ERROR NNO Dan Majerle (#290604371035) US $0.25 View Item 1994 Upper Deck USA Gold Medal ERROR NNO Dan Majerle
So I had to call paypal back and prove here that they got it and then they gave me my money back! What a waste of friggen' time!!!
Mine was only .25$ cents, I could not imagine a tag card! On top of all that, you can imagine the people who are going to abuse the crap out of this system!! "Oh! They didn't send it registered or with delivery confirmation, I will file a claim and get the card and my money back! hahaha." Makes it really really hard to sell stuff at all. No one want's to pay for registered shipping when it costs an arm and a leg but I guess that is the chance you take when you ship for affordable prices to sell stuff.
Pretty sad
