Robert Parish aka The Chief! Played until he was 43 years old and was still a full time starter for the Celtics at age 40!
Part of that legendary Boston frontcourt with Bird and McHale which won titles in 81, 84 and 86. He also won a title with the Bulls in 97 even though he logged a total of 18 minutes in the playoffs that year. Still he's a multiple all-star and legit HOFer, an absolute legend of the game!
I've chucked in this highlight for those young bloods who may not seen much of the prime time Celtics. Check out the straight out rejection (McHale), quick pass up the floor in transition (Bird), the pinpoint feed across the lane (Dennis Johnson) to the trailing big (Parish) who finishes with authority over the noted shotblocker Tree Rollins. BEAUTIFUL! ....and yes, that's four Celtic HOFers featured in that one single play!
Without further ado let's get to some cardboard!
Gold Scripts /99
Silhouette GU auto /49 (on card)
...and what better way to pay homage to the one known as the Chief than with this absolute stunner!
Inkcredible Inkscriptions auto /50 (on card)
Well that's it for now. A particularly short mailday but at least it reduces that backpile of scanning to be done.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by and having a look and a read. As always, comments and likes are always much appreciated.
A fellow who was very underestimated in my opinion. Quietly went about his business and has credentials many of the young "stars" of today will never have. Great mailday of an even greater player.
Yeah it's amazing how low some of his card prices are compared to some other guys, probably because he's pretty laid back and doesn't seek out the spotlight. And for the record I haven't seen a bad Silo yet!
Parish spent his first four years at the Warriors. Celtics traded for him and the #3 pick (which turned out to be McHale) for the #1 pick (turned out to be Joe Barry Carroll) and the #13 pick (turned out to be some scrub) and that's how the Celtics laid their frontcourt foundation for years to come!

Quietly sums Parish up perfectly. He got is nickname 'Chief' because he reminded someone of an Indian Chief from some TV show who just sat there with a stern look and never said anything - lol
