Here's a few cards I have picked up recently, all of players from Asia.
We'll start off with the first Chinese player to play in the NBA, Wang Zhi Zhi jersey card from the good old days:
Then the second Chinese player to hit the NBA as a mid-season free agent, Mengke Bateer, a rare Five Star parallel of Hoops Stars:
Then the latest Chinese addition to the league, Yi Jianlian, Topps 50th Anniversary Gold:
Finest RC Refractor:
Now we detour to South Korea's only NBA player, Ha Seung Jin, Press Pass auto Red edition:
A very rare version of the Sweet Sigs Auto on ball skin numbered to 46 only:
We return to the main attraction from China, Yao Ming, one of the best centres in the league right now.
First a 2 colour GU from 03-04 Fleer Focus Shirtified #'d to 250:
A gift from spook 07-08 Trademark Relic:
One of the coolest cards I have come across, the mini card not only have a piece of 2 colour relic, but it is encased by a big card and some pretty tough plastic on both sides.
Here we have an even more bizarre card, a 06-07 Luxury Box Relic #'d to 350 but they must have made a mistake and placed a patch in it. Since the patch cards are normally thicker, this thin regular GU card is not equipped to handle the thickness of the patch and as a result, has a bulge on the bottom left of the card.. I actually bought the card off someone fresh from a break so I am not doubting its authenticity:
We will end this mailday with a rather normal Yao E-X auto. my first stick-on auto of Yao though:
